A Calm, Charming Listen
I can really appreciate a story that moves carefully, where things aren't happening Fast! All the time! The 12:37 is a very relaxing story to listen to, while remaining interesting and engaging! I really love the concept of a time-traveling train and the shady plans of all those who actually know what's going on. I love that we don't learn much more than the protagonist, so we can sit with her in her emotions rather than screaming at the podcast going, "No! Don't do that! Aaaaah!" Marked down one star for the audio quality not being that great. I had significant difficulty understanding parts of it. Someone without a sensory processing disorder may fare better. But it's just a little podcast so far, and I know it can take a while for podcasters to get to the ideal recording setup and methods. ^-^

I tried really hard to give them credit.
I REALLY wanted to like this. I feel sort of obligated to like every show with LGBTQ+ people (and characters!) in it, and I want to give as much credit as possible because indie audio drama is so hard to make. But this was such a struggle to get through. And there was nothing in particular that offended or put me off, there was nothing content-wise that put me off. It was pretty much everything else, from the bad audio to the detached vibe of the whole show that gave me nothing to hold on to. I'm fine with melancholy and even some detachment, but there's got to be SOMETHING to draw you in, and there's just nothing there.

Meh
Firstly, it’s just really dull. Everything sounds like it’s recorded in a tin can and there’s nothing that marks out any of the places they visit as distinctive, which is usually part of the charm of a show about traveling to different places. On a separate note, for the sake of anyone who cares about science, tuberculosis is caused by bacteria, not viruses. Also antibiotics only work on bacteria, not viruses. I won’t get into the other scientific errors I caught because that’s not the point of this show but I didn’t want people to have these particular misconceptions reinforced by this show.

Time Travel of a Different Kind
What if you got onto a train that didn't travel from station to station, but from one time to another? It would be confusing, but it would also be incredibly exciting. But also what do you do if you don't have your meds with you? How do you deal with that when you're in the 1890s? What separates this show from others is its realism in a fantastical construct. There is representation of queer people and mental illness because, hey guess what, many people in real life are queer, and many people in real life have mental illness. And you can have a show that has a great scifi concept and story AS WELL AS respresenting the LGBTQ community; in fact, the show is made all the better for it. Subscribe and listen now!

“I’m gay, of course I’m dramatic”
I love love love audio fiction because, more than any other medium, I get to hear stories about LGBTQ people where the romance and the sexuality isn’t the focus. Characters can be queer and also time-traveling badasses, which is my way of saying that I’m really enjoying The 12:37 so far and I’m super looking forward to future episodes!

I'm here for this adventure
Oh yes! This is an awesome show about a train that travels through space and time. I've only just started listening but I'm excited to see where things go. Time travel! Spies? Intrigue!!! I'm very curious and 100% here for this adventure. I also very much like hearing about a main character with depression and living a normal life (well as normal as you can have on a time traveling train). I recommend you give it a listen!

Well written and lovely
I love the premise of the story—time traveling train! but more than that I love how well written the dialogue is and how lovely it is to see representation of someone like me, a queer person with depression, in science fiction. I can tell how much heart and thoughtfulness went into this project, I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Time Train
Fun show with a great premise and not afraid to take on queer issues and mental illness. We definitely need more of those voices represented, and audio is a fantastic medium for it. Can’t wait to see where the next stop is!

This show has a lot of heart, wonderful sound design, and great world building. It’s characters are warm and caring and interesting and unabashedly queer. I love them, I love Alma and the rest of the cast, and I love every time a new episode hits my feed. Please listen to this show!!

What a darn good show.
This is a darn good show. Wonderfully inventive in its world building, especially through sound design. A lot of fun! Plus, time-traveling spy train. Who doesn't want a story about a time-traveling spy train?

Audio all over the place
Good show with the exception of the erratic audio levels and clarity.
