Today, VinoMike and Pete walk you through how Dave Phinney took The Prisoner from cult wine to big money. Along the way, Dave unknowingly created a category – big California red blends – that still intrigues wine drinkers everywhere. There is so much to this story!
They also give you the inside scoop on how Mr. Phinney had to wait to make another Zinfandel-based blend for eight long years. At the end of his banishment, he created another gem called “Eight Years in the Desert.” The guys taste this one as they tell the rest of the story.
