Such an important podcast. I find gems of knowledge in every episode. Just listened to Brittany S. Hall’s episode and OMG I wrote so many notes my hand started cramping up.

This podcast has allowed me to look forward to house chores (and anything else you can do while listening to a podcast)… while every actor’s journey is different, Alyshia has created an online community with transparency that helps us all recognise a rewarding journey is also always challenging. That being said, each episode is incredibly inspiring - it really should be taught /included in any acting school’s curriculum for all students to listen to. Thank you for making this podcast Alyshia !

I stumbled across this podcast while listening to the Just Shoot It podcast. I am SO glad I did. Alyshia asks all the right questions that affirms your journey as an actor. I get so motivated and inspired by listening to the stories of each of her guests. ESPECIALLY that Laurence Fishbourne episode, which can I say, was so incredibly refreshing and positive. To hear the full story of such an iconic black actor’s career was incredible to me especially as a woman of color. THANK you Alyshia for the work you have put into creating this podcast. You are a legend!

A must for all actors of all levels. Everyone can glean something from this. Alyshia is the real deal and her guests approach the interviews with candid vulnerability. This podcast has become my go-to on my daily commute and it always leaves me wanting more

I highly recommend this podcast if you're looking for inspiration to keep your batteries charged for the long haul as an actor. No one's journey is alike & therefore there's gems to be mined from each & every episode!!!!!

I really love Alyshia’s podcast. She has a really great, wholistic, and healthy view on the industry that is one of the essential components to happiness and longevity in this business. It’s what they don’t teach you before you move to town. Basically her whole mindset is how you become a working actor or actress and just generally a successful creative person. Second, she’s got a great podcast voice. I listen to a lot of podcasts but she’s got one of the best. It almost feels like being in a yoga class — like yoga class for your acting career — score. Last, great guests. Stand out episodes are Scoot McNairy, Brian Medavoy, and Noomi Rapace. Alyshia asks all the right questions and deep dives into everyone’s experience to really pull out the golden nuggets of valuable information from everyone’s personal journeys. Everyone’s background is so different. What you quickly see is that there is no one path to the top of the Hollywood mountain, but everyone seems one thing in common aside from the pre-requisite talent — hard work and a passion to tell stories.

This podcast, and insightful host, are bringing real advice to an industry that likes to hide its machinations behind the curtain. The interviews are real and relatable to anyone in the industry and those trying to find out what (or far too often WHO) the industry is. The guests are honest and blunt which makes the information being discussed that much more impactful. I can’t recommend this show enough...and I recommend it every chance I have.

I’m excited to see what doors will open and the inspiration I will experience. I’m just going to start with a thank you for having this podcast available for people like me.

Alyshia has an incredible talent in story telling. Through the roles she transforms herself for on our screens but also being able to get to the truth and wisdom with others on her podcast. I truly look forward to these interviews every week. When I first started listening, I skipped all the Wednesday Wisdom episodes because looking at their short time length, I thought it would just be filler. HOW WRONG I WAS!!!! So inspiring! Everything Alyshia does is intentional and so genuine. Highly recommend!

I started listening to That One Audition at the beginning of quarantine. I started at episode one and just completed episode 100. I’m such a fan. Nothing has given me more insight into the acting world than this podcast. I have a four year degree from a university and experience in shows and on set, but nothing has prepared me more or taught me more than this podcast. Alyshia is a wonderful interviewer, she asks incredible questions with integrity and an empathetic mind. Her guests are full of wisdom and lessons learned. This is a tough business, and we hear a lot of "no's" this podcast is refreshingly honest, but also incredibly postitive. Alyshia, I LOVE your show and have been subscribed and listening for years! I have heard amazing testimonies and experiences from actors I’ve admired, are friends with, have worked with or whose work I just love. I’ve been in the business for years and there are still SO MANY beautiful gems and nuggets I pick up on your show each week. You’re doing great work! You inform listeners/artists on the business, the CRAFT and life experiences all of which are so important. And man, your voice is so beautiful and relaxing. C’mon voice and diction! My favorite place to listen to you is in the car. It just relaxes me, all the while stimulating my brain and giving my spirit so much hope. It gets tough in this profession at times, but I always leave with so much hope and vigor after an episode of THAT ONE AUDITION. I know my breakthrough moment is right around the corner. I only do theatre, but this is a very uplifting podcast for any artist. You get to hear famous actors from all backgrounds and their struggles and triumphs.

I was first heard of Alyshia Ochse on another acting podcast and was struck by her way of communicating but when she mentioned her creative process, something clicked as I happen to be reading Warner Loughlin’s book at the time. Since then I have gone back and listened to most of the podcasts and looked forward all the new ones weekly. The value gained from the content is immeasurable! From the creative process, to the business, to the journey lived and all of the challenges these artists face , Alyshia finds a way to connect us to them and their story.. The guests are diverse, successful working artists and for the most part I learn something from each one..many of them solidifying names for themselves in the business. Alyshia is always prepared and does her research, which is crazy considering this is a weekly podcast, she’s a successful actress and a mother.. I mean this with all the respect in the world , but she’s like the Oprah of acting podcasts.. I highly recommend this podcast and I look forward to what the next year brings. Extremely grateful!

I love this podcast! If you are an actor at any stage of your career this will give you so many insights on the business and the craft and will give you a sense of community in a career that can feel pretty lonely at times. I have learned so much from listening to this podcast and Alyshia is such a good interviewer, every time I think of a question, she is already asking it!

I’m in love with these Wednesday wisdoms! I highly recommend this to all actors at all levels! I listen when I have an audition and specially when I don’t. Alyshia’s podcast is full of these little gems that really invigorate and remind me that I’m not alone in my process. I write them down and use them as tools in my prep. I truly enjoy the angle this podcast takes with getting into the nitty gritty as far as how actors have developed their specific perspectives to approaching acting professionally. Each episode is wrought with nuggets of information and none of the guests seem to hold back with their thoughts on the positive and negative experiences they’ve had. This podcast takes a raw approach (which I think the name suggests before even diving in). I highly recommend for anyone looking to add an acting industry specific podcast to their rotation.

This podcast rocks, the talent and interviews she brings to the show is extraordinary, and even though I am not actor, I love hearing the stories and inspiring journeys these amazing actors take to get to where they are now. Inspiration for all of us to hear!

I loved Amanda Schull's episode so much -- it's very helpful to hear the successes and pitstops of a working actor who has created a strong career based on years of hard work. It's like laying out a roadmap and realistic expectations.

This podcast is everything I needed and wanted! I jumped back into the industry about a year ago and Alyshia has helped calm my nerves and assuage my fears. One of my best friends who’s currently on the front lines of the LA market told me in the summer of last year that I must listen to a podcast called “That One Audition” me being an avid listener of podcasts especially anything film related I was surprised I had not heard of it before. Listening to that first episode was like a holy experience. I understand that Alyshia has to be a mother and partner to her husband, but dam girl I don’t know what to do with my life 5 days out of the week waiting for a new episode to drop! Lol. There is not one audition I go to now that I don’t have Alyshia in the background getting me ready mentally to go in the room and kill it. I keep telling my wife that it’s like I’m on a battle field and this podcast is a morphine drip to my artistic soul that helps me keep going when times get hard. It’s as simple as this their is not one actor friend I have that has not been berated by me to listen this podcast. And if they don’t listen I un-friend them Lol JK. But for real if you are an actor this podcast is a must. Thank me later….

I love this podcast. It’s mostly for actors in Los Angeles. There is no other actor-centric podcast that comes close to That One Audition. I love how Alyshia lets her guests talk and be the center of each episode. So many other podcasts have hosts who demand they be the center of every episode (instead of the guests), but not Alyshia. I find that because of this guest-centric focus there is a humility, a grace, a maturity, and a love for the arts and for the pursuit of acting that brings you to listening to every episode. This podcast fills me up, which is so important in an industry that can drag you down. Alyshia’s guests talk about the highs, the lows, what keeps them going, and the love of the craft. Love hearing the audition stories!!! Super real, but with an optimistic and positive slant.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this podcast offers so many insights, info., advice & laughs! I listen on my commutes from OC to LA & back, half the time I’m laughing & the other half I’m crying; but mostly, I feel inspired. It demystifies so much about this industry & makes me feel more at ease on my journey. Hearing others share their stories gives me hope & stamina to keep going no matter how many “no’s” I get...I know my big “YES,” is around the corner. I just love this podast! As a working actor who recently relocated from LA to NY the business can be daunting at times and I wonder why I'm still doing it. I'll listen to the Wednesday Wisdoms or be inspired by hearing the journey of the guests and realize that it truly is tenacity that is rewarded in this business. I've been lucky enough to book a few features since I moved here and just love listening to the podcast on the way to set. I heard about this podcast when she was on Action with Leigh Foster and decided to give it a try. I’m new to acting but not to life, I’m 43. I’m a large southern man with a hard outer shell. At first, her approach was a little too spirituality wholistic for me, but she has great information to share and wonderful guests so I tried a few more episodes. I soon realized her approach and outlook is just what the Doctor ordered for me. I’m so glad I stuck with it and listen a few times a week to open myself up to what the world has to offer. I highly recommend this podcast.

When a few actor girlfriends told me how much they loved your podcast, I said “Another podcast on acting? How many can I possibly listen to one more!?” But when I make the drive from San Diego to LA and back for an audition, I have a lot of time. So one day I put it on, and a Wednesday Wisdom came on about going to an audition. Alyshia’s voice was like a sweet, kind angel talking to me! I thought, “how does she know what to say? Is she watching me right now?” After that I was hooked, and I listen to all these great stories and wisdom of people from every part of the industry. People who have gone through all the things I can relate to in such a motivational, insightful and beautiful approach to storytelling. People who keep reminding me persistence pays off.
