Healing conversations!!
This podcast is everything. When I start to feel overwhelmed as a mama, I put my headphones in and put on an epsiode. Hearing Laura and Erica’s voices are like having a good conversation with friends. Their insights, stories and perspective are so healing to me. Their advocacy is so needed. Please keep making these epsiodes!! ❤️❤️❤️

We need more of this!!!
I love this podcast so much! Erica & Laura drop so many gems. Thank you for introducing me to new language that give me life and words to label experiences I’ve felt but could never articulate. I long to listen to more conversations like this.

Humor and Truth
The people know how to podcast!! They keep the listener engaged, self-reflective and wanting to engage with the world or not and that is fine too sometimes.

Life is an Improv 101 class!
It might appear on the surface that this podcast is for pregnant people, or just women, or parents, but that would be selling it so very short. If you were ever born, this is wisdom you can use. Practical tools for better relationships with self, family, friends, the world. Insight into social systems that create obstacles to complete self-actualization. Tools for acceptance and inclusion. If I was to be inspired by the word nerdism that could be its own mini-segment of this comedic variety show, I’d call this podcast Pragmagical - pragmatically magical conversation for humans.

TRUTH AND WISDOM
Erica and Laura are magical people
Who seemingly speak to every bone and muscle in my body, the blood in my heart. I’ve been able to share this with friends and go deeper with them. Go deeper in my Doula work and business mission. It is a tear that they have chosen to share their fullest selves with us so that we can be ours.

Game Changer!!!!!
These women have been a massive part of my life, without even knowing them personally, simply through their Instagram presence. Then, the podcast dropped. I’m now referring to it more than the hours of NPR I listen to each week!! Erica and Laura have such a unique lens on the world, their wisdom has helped shift so many places I’ve found myself stuck as a mother and as a woman and as a human!!! They’ve given me whole new perspectives and deepened my understanding. I am humbled by their tireless realness, vulnerability, and willingness to show up. This podcast has made me feel so seen, held me at my rawest, and challenged and changed how I exist in this world. I realized this week that my postpartum is now a love letter to them and all they’ve done for me through what they’ve shared on this podcast. Cannot recommend it enough. Thanks for the work you guys do and for sharing it so willingly with all of us!

An honor to hear their words
Erica and Laura are two of my favorite people to listen to when I want to fill my brain and heart with goodness.
Their repartee is indicative of a strong bond but the listener never feels excluded; they do a wonderful job of sharing intimate thoughts in a way where you feel like you’re right there with them both.
Keep recording! You’re legends!!

An empowering resource!
As a newer doula who is still navigating the world of building my own community locally, it feels really comforting and empowering to have a podcast to tune into that is approachable, informative, inclusive, and engaging. I can see this being a great resource to pass on to many individuals who play various roles in all things birth / reproductive-health related! I look forward to getting through more of these podcasts / the new ones to come.

Truth sayers making me laugh and feel connected
These women are dropping knowledge, sharing truth, talking about hard stuff but in the lightest way possible while bringing levity and laughter to the table. I feel like we’re friends already and we have never met. So likable and relatable these two. Even if you’re not in the postpartum world I know you’d get something from these conversations. Thank you keep it up! Still thinking about the sister wound episode, it really rang true! I hope we get to roller skate together soon!

Could this be required listening for all families?
In my dream of life, when people announce their pregnancies, they send this podcast link out with the news. That way, everyone who is getting excited about another baby being born can get just as informed and excited how to support and transform the postpartum experience. This way new and new-again families feel held, helped and cared for. The podcast hosts are funny, conscious, and savvy, and will help you figure out not just what to do after the baby comes, but how to think about, communicate and celebrate all that postpartum period can and should be. Postpartum is technically and medically the 12 months post childbirth, but it is also a state of mind and opportunity for seeing ourselves and our roles for each other fresh. Send this podcast to all your friends who have had babies, will have babies, or hope to hang out with other people doing same. It made me laugh, cry, and be glad I was no longer post childbirth incontinent—but utterly unashamed that I ever was. It is warm and fuzzy meets boundaried and purposeful. It is for people of every gender and orientation to birth.

sara goes on about things
Thank the gods
Laura and Erica are mentors. Ever since I trained with them I hear their voices in my head and when I do, I feel better. I took episode two, Nourished Postpartum (in my ears) with me to get a mammogram. Because my mother used to come with me to all my scary doctor/medical appointments. Birdsong Brooklyn is shedding light on the things that society tells us not to look at, to be quiet about. And that silence breeds isolation and shame. So this is a podcast about postpartum care but it is also a podcast about building community and I hope that #showupforpostparum goes wild and viral and that together we change the narrative around families, expectations and parenthood. No one can it should go at life alone. Call in the support. Listen to this podcast.

This podcast had me at hello
As funny as it is, as positive as it is, and entertaining as it is, When We Tether Together...is much more and the potential of this podcast runs deep. The duo come from a place of running their own doula business together and being entrepreneurs. Doulas will find this heartening and helpful. I’m here to say that ANY woman in business , especially but not limited to the helping professions will find much nourishment and inspiration here. Best takeaway? By helping each other we are also helping ourselves.

Erica and Laura are so real and raw and honest, I’m here for all of it! I came bc these two incredible women were my Postpartum Doula trainers and have become incredible mentors to me. Everything these two discuss has a lens of care and compassion and I can’t wait to see this gift of a podcast expand. A weekend with them changed my life and I know these podcasts will be continued education and medicine for my soul.
