Important and incisive
I’m not a typical tech person, and only discovered this pod through The Nation. What have I missed! Most of the commentaries on tech dominating the media are vacuously generic compared to the astute observations and analyses on this show, all done without hyperbole or cynicism. I especially appreciate that it’s not all about digital technology, and the Dune dialogue was so much fun :)

New listener
Started listening regularly a few weeks ago and find it consistently relevant and thought provoking. I was excited to find that Paris once lived in Newfoundland, where after 22 years in New York City, I now spend at least half of every year.

Every episode is informative and important.

The dying news episode was tough to listen to
I don’t know if this is the first interview that the guest has ever done but his tone was so over the top, dramatic, whiney. The inflections in his voice were worse than nails on a chalkboard. Also, we hate the mainstream media because of their dishonest coverage of geopolitics (like Israel at the moment), war mongering, propaganda for the ultra wealthy, failure to criticize capitalism, racist anti china rhetoric, etc.

I like it
It’s informative and entertaining. Breath of fresh air if you are swimming in tech.

Great analysis of the people and forces shaping our world
Bravo for well-argued ideas that rebut the tech industry’s smug, fatuous, and sometimes dangerous torrent of self-promotion. Silicon Valley and its fanboys have been spewing nonsense for decades — anyone remember John Perry Barlow’s “Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace”? That’s why every generation needs people like Paris Marx and guests to expose tech fetishists for the self-serving frauds they are.

Necessary
I work in tech and find this critical perspective and analysis necessary to staying sane and grounded in reality. I recommend it to everyone.

Essential Reporting
Constantly impressed by the depth and thoroughness of the coverage on this podcast. In a world where most tech journalism is little more than free PR and boosterism for the industry, TWSU is one of the only reliable sources for critical analysis of this incredibly broken industry. It’s gratifying to hear Paris and their guests have honest opinions about how we unravel the various crises that tech has created.

One of the best podcasts, period
I am constantly inspired, informed, and astonished by what I learn from the host and guests on Tech Won’t Save Us. Beyond the quality of the content, it’s also the best source I’ve found for sheer rational thought instead of the hype that passes for a lot of tech journalism these days. Tech won’t save us, but this podcast just might.

Love the show, but you swung and missed with this one. Especially on the timing. The day before your drop, historic testimony was given to Congress by witnesses, under oath, testifying about UAPs that they had seen. First time ever. Very unimpeachable witnesses. You ended your episode laughing at the possibility of the existence of non human UAPs; those of us who love your show and yet accept or believe this other stuff have been laughed at all of our lives for it. It just didn’t feel good to have someone that we hold in high regard laughing at us, along with all of the others whom we don’t hold in nearly as high a regard. Laughing at our faith, in essence. Not necessary.

Host talks too much
Great subjects and guests but host talks too much.

One side
This pod is a great way to see what one side thinks of the tech world and it’s future. But it would be nice if there was some representation for the “other side” so we can truly know what they are thinking instead of what Paris and his guests say they think. Without that it becomes very repetitive and taxing. If you’ve heard one episode you’ve heard them all. It goes, “big tech is bad and everyone involved is dumb and wants to genocide the world except for their rich friends.” Rinse, repeat. I like hearing both sides so this pod is only part of a healthy diet.

The interesting stuff
It’s great to have a podcast that actually engages with Tech in a thoughtful way that isn’t just wild speculation. A lot of tech is genuinely interesting and this podcast does a great job of talking with people who clearly cares about tech and how it’s used to effect people’s lives.

A must listen for tech professionals
Absolutely essential listening for any tech worker, hands down. I recommend it to every developer, designer, and tech interested person I know. I *especially* like any episode with Gita Jackson. They're my favorite! But I've learned so many valuable things from this podcast. Definitely recommend it!

Perfect.
I can’t say enough how lovely it is. Well researched, well produced, relevant, and clever, informative without being too dry or gloomy.

Crucial insights
At this time, with most tech reporting being of the cheerleader genre, this and allied reporting is essential to for getting a realistic assessment of the overall market and industry.

Re: Zuckerberg Won’t Save Us.
While I think this is an interesting and insightful discussion I think one of the things you have missed is the lack of studying humanities by these tech people. When the question is posed “how different would the world have been if these tech giants have been exposed to a different type of story rather than dystopian science fiction,” my first thought was there are so many great stories in literature that express a more uplifting story. Thank of Hard Times by dickens; Les Miserables by Hugo. I can go on but you get the point. The biggest challenge I see is that humanities continues to be dismissed. have you ever considered a podcast about that?

Smart, thoughtful commentary you can’t get elsewhere
In a world of knee-jerk news reactions, this in-depth analysis offers useful context you can’t find anywhere else. Highly recommended!

Irreplaceable and essential listening for the 21st century
Paris runs an extremely informative and insightful show, and I have him to thank for bringing to light numerous problems with our blind trust in technology and its developers. An earnest listener will truly be more enlightened by the interviews, discussions, even Paris’ own monologues on the show. I was shocked by how many dogmatic beliefs about tech which I’d accepted as true without scrutiny. If there’s one point preventing me from a full five points, it’s occasional drifting from the central topic of the show and moving into social advocacy which doesn’t directly relate to the problems of technology in our lives. This only happened in a few episodes which I can recall, and perhaps the argument would be that such causes match the show in theme, but certainly not in topic.

In-depth and insightful episodes
I love going deep on issues to really understand the nuance, so I’m enjoying this podcast a great deal. Usually the host Paris Marx has a very well-informed guest and asks good questions, but I also really enjoyed the recent episode where he was the expert and so instead of interviewing, he just dove into the topic (billionaire space race).

Tech Still Won't Save Us
Want to know what this podcast is about? It's in the title. I enjoy a bit of good sci fi, but I also like this podcast. It's not a contradiction at all. If you want a good counter-narrative to all the dross and techno worship out there, tune in to Paris Marx.

Quibble
I know we all have verbal crutches, but podcasters really need to be aware of them because they can get distracting. (I know, I did a podcast for a while and had to catch myself because I noticed I said “kind of” so much.) For Paris I would recommend he try to cut back on his use of “obviously,” since I do find myself starting to count the number of times he says it. I’m giving the pod five stars though for the content.

Whose interests does tech serve?
A fantastic show. If you’ve ever wondered how Uberpool managed to be so cheap, or why commercial space travel gets so much more attention than asteroid detection systems, this podcast is for you.

Good needs a website
Some of my friends don’t have apple products, so it would be nice to have a website for the show to send to them. Wish I could donate because it is very good content.

Paris Marx, outside of his very revolutionary name, is revolutionizing the conversation around tech, with amazing guests and deep conversations on contemporary issues, every episode is top tier

The conversation we need to be having
As tech comes to occupy an ever more prevalent role in our lives, it's important to respond to it critically rather than passively. This is important particularly because our understanding of tech is often so implicated with the interests of specific businesses. This podcast points out that tech does not overcome the necessary work of changing how we organize our social forces. Paris is a great interviewer with a charming voice, and his guests tend to be insightful, often powerful even. I am a tech lover, a digital artist, and I started using this podcast to inform myself as a tech user.

Newsletter—> podcast
Im so happy that the creator of my favorite newsletter decided to do a podcast. I’ve enjoyed everything so far. Urbanist and tech issues are tied together nicely. I have a whole list of books that I want to buy from the guest recommendations.
