We then catch up with Adam Leventhal from The Athletic, with Abdoulaye Doucoure seemingly on the brink of finalising his transfer to Everton.

Matt and Dave are joined by Paddy Boyland from the Athletic to discuss what looks to be a big few days ahead for Everton in the transfer market. The guys also look at Andy Murray’s incredible comeback in US Open and the climax of the PGA Tour Golf’s FedEx Cup.

Matt and Dave start the show by talking about the decision from a number of franchises and individuals to postpone their involvement in sport in the United States following the police shooting of a black man. Jamie Holme from The Boot Room podcast then joins the conversation to give us an update on Liverpool. Spanish football commentator and broadcaster Rob Palmer was also on the phone to talk about Lionel Messi and James Rodriguez. We finish the show with a chat about Soccer Saturday, after Sky Sports decided to axe Matt Le Tissier, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas.

Finally, Nick Peet from Fight Disciples joined the conversation, with a dramatic win for Katie Taylor and a devastating loss for Dillian Whyte the main headlines.
