Do CB students live up to Freudian theories? In this mind-blowing episode of the Talon Talk, your host Alexxa Riley and CB'S AP Psychology teacher Mr. Vincent Leporini use the principles of psychology to unpack toxic as well as healthy behaviors commonly seen on campus. They discuss narcissism, projection, introspection, and the importance of being real.

Alina is in the Class of 2025 at Christian Brothers and has been an advocate for autism awareness since 6th grade. She has presented to the MIND Institute at UC Davis and the Sacramento City Unified School District. She is very open about discussing her experience as a student who is among the neurodiverse. Please listen as she speaks from her heart about her experience as an autistic student.

In their last semester of their senior year, Talon staff members Alicia Wood, Taylor Paton, and Margaret Wanket unpack the rejection they have faced throughout their high school careers. They share the things they wish they had done differently and the things they knew at the time.

Young women from CB's Asian Cultural Alliance and Polynesian Club share the complexities of Asian identity in terms of nationality and gender, the evolving expectations of Asian families on their students, and stories that elicit both laughter and tears. In this episode of the pod, two beautiful CB men, Mr. Paul Havey '81 and Joe Dozier '22 discuss a subject close their hearts: grief. Although difficult to discuss openly in society, grief is something that affects us all. Grief takes many forms and can lead to unhealthy and harmful behaviors. Thank you Joe and Mr. Havey for allowing yourself to be vulnerable and sharing directly from your heart how you turned grief into something that can be of service to others.

In this episode of Stories from the Heart, Ms. Bacich, George Dozie III, Mr. Elorduy and Caroline Kramer share personal stories about their prayer life. Note: This episode was recorded just before Thanksgiving. Thank you to the students who shared about their prayer life when briefly stopped in the hallway. We hope that this episode will inspire you to take time in the day to stop what you are doing and center yourself in prayer!

Mr. Tom English has dedicated many years to the Christian Brothers  community. The iconic history teacher has been around for it all, from  the Brothers living on campus to dressing up when his World History  students pass the AP exam. Host Bella Barbosa ('21) talks to the widely  admired teacher about the ever-changing CB community and the place that  Mr. English has held within it.
