Ep 221 | Galatians, Come Follow Me 2023 (September 25-October 1)
1 hour 7 minutes Posted Sep 20, 2023 at 11:01 am.
– A brief overview of these chapters.
– Judaizers are instructing the Galatians to follow the law of Moses, which Paul taught is no longer necessary.
– Many are called but few are chosen. There is a distinction between authority and power.
– Paul speaks of attending the Jerusalem Conference (Acts 15). When we make spiritual progress and let go of a bad habit, we need to replace it with something good.
– We are not justified by the works of the law, but by our faith in Jesus Christ. God justified Abraham who knew not the law.
– The law of Moses was the schoolmaster until Christ.
– “Put on Christ” can be a reference to putting on sacred vestments, as well as taking on the attributes of Jesus Christ.
– Servants become heirs through covenants.
– Paul is reversing the argument of the Judaizers. All who are of the faith and baptized into Christ become Abraham’s seed.
– The works of the flesh and the fruits of the spirit are listed. Be not weary in well-doing.
