The Black Sheep of the family, Matt Hurley is the first to admit that his circumstances were of his own making. A defining moment - jail time - allowed Matt to see a new path and chose the road less travelled. Matt's dad said it best, “life ends up being the small choices you make along the way.” And Matt added "It’s also the small, or seemingly trivial decisions that other’s make which allow those moments to occur, other’s open the door- even if we still have to walk through them". As Matt closed one door and walked through another he said "it’s not a small decision, but one of those moments I can appreciate for what it is and have gratitude for those small decisions others made which changed my life. It would be impossible to name them all, so suffice it to say I am grateful for the relationships I’ve had, because they are the the most important things in life. The ties that bind".
