A new composition every day starts with this classic work Adagio from Concerto in D minor BWV 974 by A. Marcello-J.S. Bach for Violin and Piano by TTC Tale Teller Club.hello wonderful people of the internet welcome to my radio show well of course it's not a radio show is it it's a podcast and i'm i'm probably showing my age saying radio show but i was thinking that radio sounds so much more no how shall i say she's sort of genuine i guess but i think that's just because i'm an old lady isn't it probably um well i'm not that old but relatively speaking i mean i remember radios that's how old i am transistor i had a little transistor thing when i was at boarding school it was a with a wrist hook fabulous how fabulous now we have phones and the other thing i'm i'm buying a bang olufsen telephone uh set up you have to buy you know various bits of it and i mean the penthouse is fairly small and it's only me in the cat and cat's not really going to use the phone however i have four or five rooms and one should really when one is working with landlines have one in each room i feel so i i thought oh i'm going to buy something really fancy now the thing is because everybody is uses telephones these days mobile phones rather um no you know the art of the landline seems to have been lost somewhat so i'm going to resurrect it and i'll tell you why i don't get a phone single signal here in the studio or the penthouse no phone signal at all so one has to rely entirely on the internet and wi-fi and that's rather tricky you know when you want to ring different businesses and things like this they're not all using that facility so i thought well i've got this perfectly good landline that i haven't used for five years so i'm having it all installed and i'm having my bang olufsen put in my my center of a telephonic excellence and i'm not going to lie i'm rather excitedand i'm going to be all old school but i'm not getting a wireless i haven't gone that far yet although while i was searching for um vintage telephones i came across vintage technics music um you know high stack systems and i i recall many years ago i was with a girlfriend of mine and her husband who is a sailor i live in portsmouth near portsmouth it's all very sailory and he uh we'd gone shopping one saturday and um he we went into the technic shop and i mean it was all an orgasmic experience and i sort of promised myself then that one day i would own a technics stack system and i never have absolute um you know what dream shattered when i realized that they're so ridiculously expensive anyway you can get them online now uh on ebay rather and you know these vintage stacks i mean i'm not going to get one because um i i don't know why why am i not well they shake up a lot of room don't they i mean i i can handle so much vintage but when it's room floor hungry um it it's not going to happen i did have a colleague recently and he was a very elderly man i think 89 and i i'd popped around to you know have lunch with him and he had these two flat speakers in gold that looked not dissimilar to radiators and i've been after some of those for a while because they looked just so incredibly chic and wonderful but you have to start doing things like converting them so that they can plug into your um you know your your digital systems which i've got i've i have all that here um i'm very tricky despite wanting to have a landline i'm very high tech well look i'm a digital musician of course i'm high tech talking of that i'm get i did a version of umuh the adagio by bach so this is the the official title adagio from concerto in d minor bwv 974 by a marcelo and jazz bar for violin and piano and i've done a bit more because i couldn't resist so i've given it a bit more string section and um obviously i've got my synth out because that's my job it is what i do darlings i'm a synth ho and i really like it i think it's worked really well it's just a quick edit i...

Part 2 is the second half of the book from ch 20this is a librivox recording all librivox recordings are in the public domain for more information or to volunteer please visit librivox.organne of green gables by l m montgomery chapter 20 a good imagination gone wrong spring had come once more to green gables the beautiful capricious reluctant canadian spring lingering along through april and may in a succession of sweet fresh chilly days with pink sunsets and miracles of resurrection and growth the maples in lover's lane were red budded and little curly ferns pushed up around the dryads bubble away in the barrens behind mr silas sloane's place the mayflowers blossomed out pink and white stars of sweetness under their brown leaves all the schoolgirls and boys had one golden afternoon gathering them coming home in the clear echoing twilight with arms and baskets full of flowery spoil i'm so sorry for people who live in lands where there are no mayflowers said anne diana says perhaps they have something better but there couldn't be anything better than mayflowers could there marilla and diana says that if they don't know what they are then they don't miss them but i think that is the saddest thing of all i think it would be tragic marilla not to know what mayflowers are like and not to miss them do you know what i think mayflowers are marilla i think they must be the souls of the flowers that died last summer and this is their heaven but we had a splendid time today marilla we had our lunch turn in a big mossy hollow by an old well such a romantic spot charlie sloane dared artie gillis to jump over it and artie did because he wouldn't take a dare nobody would in school it is very fashionable to dare mr phillips gave all the mayflowers he found to prissy andrews and i heard him say sweets to the sweet he got that out of a book i know but it shows he has some imagination i was offered some mayflowers too but i rejected them with scorn i can't tell you the person's name because i have vowed never to let it cross my lips we made wreaths out of the mayflowers and put them on our hats and when the time came to go home we marched in procession down the road two by two with our bouquets and wreaths singing my home on the hill oh it was so thrilling marilla all mr silas sloane's folks rushed out to see us and everybody we met on the road stopped and stared after us we made a real sensation not much wonder such silly doings was marilla's response after the mayflowers came the violets and violet veil wasn't purpled with them and walked through it on her way to school with reverent steps and worshiping eyes as if she trot on holy ground somehow she told diana when i'm going through here i don't really care whether gil whether anybody gets ahead of me in class or not but when i'm up in school it's all different and i care as much as ever there's such a lot of different ants in me i sometimes think that's why i'm such a troublesome person if i was just the one and it would be ever so much more comfortable but then it wouldn't be half so interesting one june evening when the orchards were pink blossomed again when the frogs were singing silverly sweet in the marshes about the head of the lake of shining waters and the air was full of the savor of cloverfields and balsamic fur woods anne was sitting by her gable window she had been studying her lessons but it had grown too dark to see the book so she had fallen into wide-eyed reverie looking out past the bows of the snow queen once more be starred with its tops of blossom in all essential respects the little gable chamber was unchanged the walls were as white the pin cushion is hard the chairs as stiffly and yellowly upright as ever yet the whole character of the room was altered it was full of a new vital pulsing personality that seemed to pervade it and to be quite independent of schoolgirl books and dresses and ribbons and even of the cracked blue jug full of apple...

hi guys so i've just got a little bit of music and i wanted to chat briefly about the difference between the children's music that tellteller club does and the grown-up music well the grown-up music there isn't that much of it at the moment we're just about to launch into a winter of um more contemporary experimental music up until now because we've been building the tales hello kids department and because i was teaching there was there's a lot of backing tracks and um tunes that actually were designed to help my students uh you know play along sing along find their ear because i'm a cellist and we you know cellists really really depend on getting our intonation spot on so splitting up um music into classical music particularly into layers really helps with playing along and getting my students ready to play a children with an orchestra because you start to pull out bits and you and you can really hear when you're making a you know a tough note but you also get to know about pacing and things like that so there's a lot of music that we've got here on all the podcasts actually that are directed specifically for children but there is a crossover and a lot of the music you know you can listen to it as an adult with a curious mind and really see what i've done with my synthesizer because i'm completely obsessed with my synthesizer um i absolutely love electronica and i love um pushing sounds that are not traditionally pushed via a synth so i really like doing that look i'm not the first person to do that of course i'm not they've been doing that since the 70s um but it it's i think it's interesting as they bring out each sort of new uh bit of software stretching it and understanding what crazy stuff i can do and there is some really crazy stuff now because i'm not teaching anymore and the schools are really um they're not they're not really up and running because i just don't have the time to teach anymore i'm i'm purely a presenter now these days um and because of that the children's music is going to in a way take a sort of not not quite be center stage anymore but that's not to say that i'm not going to do it um because of course vaporpunk now has his own channel so vapourpunk will be making music specifically um for children but not um not really for teaching as such so it's just a little bit of a sideways um adjustment i guess so most of the music that i'm going to be doing for the coming months is very much electronic experimental synthesizer based and raw cello i'm really keen to get started on that actually and i i think i've had enough of baby talk so um however i'm going to play two wonderful children's pieces that i did recently one's cuddles in the disco which i really like actually i really like this a lot i think this was an attempt to be experimental for young persons you know um i sort of has that kind of feel to it um and the bach uh air on a g-string which via vapour punk is very much for my cellists who can play along and it really pulls out the melody you can really hear it um and it's a great a massively um advantageous piece for improvising you you can really hear the parts and and play you know because i've separated each part into a different instrument and it's very clear um you can follow whichever sort of line you want to so you can think oh i'm going to be the ping ping sound or i'm going to be the vocal you know the the choir sound um i i think that's a really useful way for for teaching so um you know the the podcast is here for access ease of access so and if you have one of our apps um i mean we're all over the internet really but you should be able to follow one or two of the pods that we do and then you can just play it you can put you see what you do is you put one headphone in your ear and the one that's not close to your cello and then you you play along to it it's really super super fun actually um i thought i'm getting reminiscing you see about the stuff that i've done in the over the...

A particular favorite for so many of us. An orphan comes to terms and developes in her new environment but there are many hitches on the way with this lovable central character.this is a librivox recording all librivox recordings are in the public domain for more information or to volunteer please visit librivox.organne of green gables by l m montgomery chapter one mrs rachel lind is surprisedmrs rachel lind lived just where the avonlea main road dipped down into a little hollow fringed with alders and ladies eardrops and traversed by a brook that had its source a way back in the woods of the old cuthbert place it was reputed to be an intricate headlong brook in its earlier course through those woods with dark secrets of pool and cascade but by the time it reached lynn's hollow it was a quiet well-conducted little stream for not even a brook could run past mrs rachel lin's door without due regard for decency and decorum it probably was conscious that mrs rachel was sitting at her window keeping a sharp eye on everything that passed from brooks and children up and that if she noticed anything odd or out of place she would never rest until she had ferreted out the why's and wherefores thereof there are plenty of people in avonlea and out of it who can attend closely to their neighbor's business by dint of neglecting their own but mrs rachel lind was one of those capable creatures who can manage their own concerns and those of other folks into the bargain she was a notable housewife her work was always done and well done she ran the sewing circle helped run the sunday school and was the strongest prop of the church aid society and foreign missions auxiliary yet with all this mrs rachel found abundant time to sit for hours at her kitchen window knitting cotton warp quilts she had knitted 16 of them as heavenly housekeepers were want to tell in odd voices and keeping a sharp eye on the main road that crossed the hollow and wound up the steep red hill beyond since avonlea occupied a little triangular peninsula jutting out into the gulf of saint lawrence with water on two sides of it anybody who went out of it or into it had to pass over that hill road and so run the unseen gauntlet of mrs rachel's all-seeing eye she was sitting there one afternoon in early june the sun was coming in at the window warm and bright the orchard on the slope below the house was in a bridal flush of pinky white bloom hummed over by a myriad of bees thomas lind a meek little man whom heavenly people called rachel lin's husband was sowing his late turnip seed on the hill field beyond the barn and matthew cuthbert ought to have been sewing his on the big red brook field away over by green gables mrs rachel knew that he ought because she had heard him tell peter morrison the evening before and william j blair's store over at carmody that he meant to sow his turnip seed the next afternoon peter had asked him of course for matthew cuthbert had never been known to volunteer information about anything in his whole life and yet here was matthew cuthbert at half past three on the afternoon of a busy day placidly driving over the hollow and up the hill moreover he wore a white collar and his best suit of clothes which was plain proof that he was going out of avonlea and he had the buggy and the sorrel mare which be tokened that he was going a considerable distance now where was matthew cuthbert going and why was he going there had it been any other man in avonlea mrs rachel deftly putting this and that together might have given a pretty good guess as to both questions but matthew so rarely went from home that it must be something pressing and unusual which was taking him he was the shyest man alive and hated to have to go among strangers or to any place where he might have to talk matthew dressed up with a white collar and driving in a buggy was something that didn't happen often mrs rachel ponder as she might could make...
