In this episode, I talked to Africa Collection Manager at Index Select and Travel Consultant, Wazha Dube.During this discussion, Wazha and I talked about his early upbringing, which involved moving across to the U.K. from Botswana and living in multiple other countries before settling in New York. We spoke in detail about what it was like to break into the travel sector and any challenges he faced doing so. In particular, what it was like for someone of colour. Following that topic, we looked at why the industry hasn't been as diverse and where we are in terms of diversity and inclusion since organisations pledged to do so after the Black Lives Matter movement started. I spoke to him about his work and what that entails, and where he sees himself in the future. I also discussed why the continent of Africa is so unique and why people should consider travelling there for their holidays. It was a fascinating talk, and I look forward to seeing where Wazha ends up next. You can also watch the episode on my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/0XZ-SueysBA).
