Top tier journalism in a niche
This podcast and its host have phenomenal storytelling skills and production quality. Even though it’s only a short series, I love it. My fiancée is Malaysian, and I deeply appreciate this. Hearing the personal stories, the histories, and cultural background of these topics is a richer reward than the foods themselves!

History of Food
I LOVE the way Jin takes listeners into a deep dive into the history of Asian food. Especially the tea episode where there’s the sound of tea seeping and sifting. It’s very calming and soothing. Also, I like to learn about the differences and so many types of Asian food!!!

Beautifully crafted, soulfully produced
My sister and I LOVE this show. An absolutely beautifully crafted podcast (storytelling, research, audio, music) with such a deep and authentic amount of care for the subject. What a extraordinary way to look at Asian food through a multidimensional lens, celebrating people as much as their cuisine. Listen to it people!!

Informative, charming, and highly recommend
Tuned in to learn more about durian after I had it for the first time a few months ago, but have been eagerly awaiting every new episode for how deeply informative, charming, and even funny this podcast is! Thank you for sharing your curiosities and knowledge about Asian food!

This show is a delight
Every episode is a window into something fascinating, and the host has such a lovely, warm way of talking—I feel like we are already friends. Jun, if you’re ever in San Diego get in touch! I’ll show you all the best taco trucks. ☺️

A dose of knowledge and culture
I love listening to Jun talk about food. His interests align with my own, and I know I'll hear him talk about the history and anthropological links to whatever the topic of the episode is. He delves into the intersection of food and culture and isn't afraid to let topics wander away and follow their own path. As an expat foodie living in Malaysia, his podcast is essential listening as I settle in to my new home.
