As we’ve learned throughout this series, God reroutes our plans for many reasons whether it be to teach us a valuable lesson, reveal an aspect of his character, or strengthen our faith as believers. In Luke 19, Jesus reroutes his own plans to minister to Zacchaeus, a tax collector treated as an outsider in this time. Through this story, God encourages us to reroute our earthly way of thinking and seek out his perspective which is based in His holy word and spirit.

Have you ever reached a point in your life where you felt like you had run out of options? Sometimes God puts us in a situation where the only option is to depend on him! This is exactly what Jesus did with his disciples in the story of John 6. Not only did he miraculously provide food for over 5,000 people, he offered them eternal life through him- the Bread of Life.

Have you ever had an encounter that completely changed your life for the better? For the Samaritan woman in John 4, this is exactly what happened when she encountered Jesus at the well. Although she was ostracized by those around her, Jesus saw past her sins and struggles and offered her living water and eternal life.

This week, we take a look at how God re-routes the plans of Jonathan in 1 Samuel. Instead of becoming king, as direct heir to Saul, Jonathan is called to humble himself and serve God in other ways. Jonathan’s story serves as a reminder that we can sometimes accomplish more by taking a backseat and trusting God’s will for us!

Have you ever had your plans re-routed by God? This is the case for Old Testament woman Naomi as she faces loss and hardship in her life. Little did she know, God was planning to use these hardships to bless her in ways she never expected. Naomi's story is a reminder to us that we serve a loving God who brings life out of death!
