Characteristics of an Abuse:

• An abuser is going to try to control anything and everything.
• An abuser will try to convince you that you never do anything right.
• An abuser will exhibit extreme jealousy.
• An abuser will alienate you from your family.
• There will be a cycle of apologies and repeat actions.
• An abuser will play the victim.
• An abuser controls the finances – often putting you on a closely monitored allowance.
• An abuser will typically constantly bother you about where you are or who you are with.
• An abuser will often physically restrain you during arguments.
• Sometimes, an abuser will force you to use drugs/alcohol.
