The stories of true survival accounts are made even better by the narrators recounting of them. I’m not sure if they are making any new ones but the ones I have listened to were all excellent. One of my favorites was about the shipwreck and survival on Auckland Island in the 1860s.

Looked interesting. Thought it would be a primary source recounting their experience. Instead it’s an extremely cornily written script narrated by actors that make it sound like a children’s tv show. What a disappointment! A million ads.

I loved this podcast, but they haven’t had any actual new episodes for many months. Tired of Parcast uploading crossovers and ads to so many of their shows, making it seem like there are lots of new episodes, when it’s just a bunch of duplicates of the same ad for a different show spamming my feed.

Dope stuff but anything new survival related coming soon ?

These stories are exactly the edutainment Winston Smith might expect to come out of a Bloomberg funded tele-screen.

They haven’t updated a new episode in forever, they just play episodes from other podcasts on their network.

Start doing real episodes again and I’ll give a higher star rating

Is this podcast narrated by robots? My goodness, what a boring duo. Not only do they talk too slow, but switching back and forth from narrator to narrator is super annoying. I just don’t have the patience for this one.

So good! I was getting crap from my family about true crime podcasts (they say it contributes to my nightmares... I don’t think so lol) but anyway, this is a good alternative right?.... right...? :)

Now that the plagiarist, Ashley Flowers has been added to the lineup I feel no guilt deleting Parcast Originals from my feed. It was irritating that lately they seemed to be plagiarizing themselves and avoiding putting out new content, but perhaps they had learned tricks from a new partner.

So disappointed that Paracast would feature a person who has plagiarized from independent true crime podcasters.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this is my favorite by far. Interesting topics and I especially love the historical stories. The narrators do a great job and I always enjoy listening to them. Never stop learning!

Just one thing. Please stop posting trailers for new feed or show in all parcast shows. I'm subscribed to so many parcast shows and because of that when you post the trailer for a new podcast in all parcast podcasts I get the same notification 10 times all at once. Also please don't post episodes of other shows in different podcasts. The feed of a certain podcast gets very confusing and difficult to navigate. Other than these two complaints, I love the content of all parcast podcasts.

I cannot enjoy a story w the constant switching of narrators. I lose concentration in the story. Really wanted to like this podcast series but I cannot cope w multiple narrators. Hope Parcast will drop this in future podcasta.

I really was hoping this podcast would be the good survival story telling podcast I had always hoped for, but both hosts tell the stories far too dramatically to even connect to the story.

Serious room for improvement in the fact checking department here. For instance “wildland firefighters carry propane blow torches??” That is laughable!!! Who did they interview for this information?? I noticed similar idiotic descriptions in the Joe Simpson Touching The Void episodes. Good stories. But just that. This is pure fiction.

I use podcasts while I clean. Being a stay at home mom I have lots of time to listen and I’m so glad I found this one!!!

I love these shows. They are well researched and the story-telling is captivating. All in all, they are very high quality and I would (and do) recommend them any time podcasts come up. However, I do NOT need to hear guns being fired and people screaming in agony to keep me interested in the story. In fact, I think those gimmicky audio clips devalue the podcast in general. It seems to cheapen the experiences of the people who went through this horrific event. These sounds take fascinating story telling and turn it into gimmicky entertainment. These events are horrifying enough on their own; adding these elements is like throwing a jump scare into a documentary. It is also deeply unsettling to hear those sounds as an American who is constantly in fear of being gunned down in any public place at any time. Music is appreciated. Sound effects are not. When reporting on things as serious as genocide and serial killers, there is a fine line between telling the story and using these people’s harrowing experiences as entertainment. The sound effects take away from the solemnity that is necessary to keep these podcasts from feeling exploitative.

I love the back and 4th story telling. The stories are so good. It’s amazing what the human spirit can endure!

I love this podcast! All the episodes are amazing they go in depth into what the people in these situations went through both psychology and psychically. The Donner party and the Charlie Cusack episodes are my favorite so far. I hope they eventually do the Harrison Okene story that would be a good episode.

These are heart pounding stories.

They lost me with "When white people..." "When white people..." Hey, guess what. White people settled North America. No need to make that the focus on this historic event. Tell the story and leave out the obvious just to push an agenda.
