Parental Advisory: excellent, sharp podcast that may hurt it’s so good.

Courageous and Competent
The hosts are appreciative of hip hop culture yet don’t worship it. They are also critical but not condemning and self-righteous. Most importantly, they are knowledgable without being know it alls. Because of this balance, I am a big fan of the podcast and their courage to tackle a cultural no-fly zone. I highly recommend it!

Knowledgeable and insightful
Cray and Sam carefully maintain the balance between fandom and objective Christian response to a spectrum of hip hop recordings. This is the sort of Christian podcast that help propel the spiritual conversation into new pop culture circles.

my go-to source
(Almost) everything I know about rap music stems from this. It’s a great way to learn about artists and the genre. Thanks for your work on this show.

Rad!
This show is rad! These guys have some great Christ centered insight into a genre that most Christians wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. I'm a punk rocker at heart, but am quickly gaining a deeper appreciation for hip hop. Keep it up, fellas! Soli Deo Gloria!

Sam and Cray do a great job thoughtfully engaging these songs. I gave up secular rap a long time ago because I was weak and impressionable. This show demonstrates that this genre has a lot to teach us. Great job guys!

Keep up the great work!
I normally do not find myself rating podcasts but Sam and Cray deserve to be recognized for hosting a thought provoking show. I personally stopped listening to hip hop 6 years ago because I did not relate to what was getting played. On an off chance I listened to episode on the convo by DMX and I've been hooked! Thanks for opening my eyes again.

Just what I have been missing
As a Christian man who grew up on hip hop, you guys have found a way to do what I have personally tried to do growing up; listen with discernment. Just because I love hip hop doesn't mean I don't love Jesus or that I allow lyrics to cloud my judgement. This podcast breaks it down in such a thoughtful way that even people that didn't grow up with it can appreciate an honest and open dialogue about lyrics and how it relates to our lives and responsibilities as Christians. My only gripe is that the discussion goes by so fast and I have to wait for another episode. Please don't ever stop doing this and I will keep spreading the word to my other Christ loving hip hop heads.

Refreshing Insight
Episodes are thought provoking and intelligent.
These cats are pretty knowledgeable for a couple of white guys from rural Missouri.

I love the critique of music through a Christian lens from two such balanced and respectable guys. I am not a big music listener but am a big podcast listener and appreciate the view into a subculture outside my own.

Insightful, humble, thoughtful, fun
As a fan of rap music, I found myself enthralled by the insights that this cast had on rap music from a Christian perspective. Rap music can be so easily written off, but the guys behind this show really make a case for the form that can't be denied. They're not unconsciously embracing an entire genre, but instead dig deep behind the surface level to discover the lives and motives behind this music. A must listen for anyone who's been tempted to write off the genre.

Great!
Very interesting analysis of rap music from the Christian perspective. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but it's already growing on me after just a few episodes of this podcast.
