Remember in Episode 1 when I mentioned that I wanted the show to highlight people from all aspects of the Brick and Mortar sweets life? Well we are finally starting to come full circle! We've already had the online and cake studio markets represented, so for today's episode I was so excited to sit down with my friends TJ Peach and Brad Thompson. TJ and Brad are a husband and wife team who own Susie's Shortbreads, a retail bakery located in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. Susie's has been in operation for 13 years and specializes in cupcakes, cookies, and all things sweet! Their business has been featured on Food Network and in various local news and media outlets.
In this episode, I chat with TJ and Brad about a ton of topics including how they grew their business from just shortbreads to the powerhouse that it is today, the importance of scaling back, and most importantly what its like to work with your spouse!
