Nandi and I met working on The Vagina Monologues in 2018. She is a powerful poet, actress and activist. She read for the John Hewitt Society for the 2019 International Migrants Day (Linen Hall, Belfast) and most recently online, with poet Seán Hewitt, as part of 2021 St Patrick's Symposium on Reminiscence (Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council). Nandi lived in South Africa under the apartheid regime until she was 21, when she moved to Northern Ireland—where she has been active in the arts community as a writer, schools ambassador, artist and facilitator. In 2010, she founded the ‘nandijproject’, with the intention to tackle women trafficking and sexual exploitation. She has participated in public performance and discussion with fellow writer Raquel McKee and has explored the place of performance writers in the field of artistic practice and public arts. She has been involved with the Irish Writers Centre XBorders project, Same/Difference project, the Poetry Jukebox and is part of the Sky, You Are Too Big poetry collective. Nandi managed the ‘Home neither here nor there’ exhibition at Stormont in May 2013.

When I moved to Northern Ireland and heard about this amazing woman and what she was creating with her Assembly Community, I literally emailed her and said "Hi, I'm going to be your new best friend!" This was a chat from a couple of years ago when she was launching her Movements Programme for female entrepreneurs. She now has an amazing global community of women rising up and stepping out in their businesses. She's a true mover and shaker.

This was a chat with singer songwriter Angela Josephine who was visiting Ireland from her home on Lake Michigan to shoot videos for her latest album Daylight in 2018. Angela’s latest full-length album Daylight is at once a folk-rock opera and personal exploration. A project spanning seven years, from its demo inception in a pole barn in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (2011) to a fully produced album recorded in Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan (producer Chris Bathgate) (2018), Daylight delves into themes of darkness and light .  The cinematic prelude “This Light” invites one into an expansive landscape that unfold with unexpected beauty and lush discovery, culminating in the haunting finale “Face to the Wind”.

This was my very first episode with the awardwinning playwright and actress Noni Stapleton, who also happens to be one of my dearest friend. Noni is an Irish actress, voice over artist and playwright. She graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2002, beginning her theatre career in What The Dead Want (directed by Jimmy Fay) at Project Arts Centre, Dublin. She has continued to work in theatre, tv and film as an actress and writer and has also performed in many Irish language (Gaelic) productions. Noni co-founded Skipalong Theatre Company for which she co-wrote One for Sorrow and Two for a Girl. She played multiple roles in both productions which were directed by Maureen White. Two for a Girl was nominated for the Jayne Snow Award for “Innovation and Bravery in Theatre” at the Dublin Fringe Festival and subsequently published in ‘Freshly Brewed’, an anthology of new Irish writing. Noni is a company member of AboutFACE, an Irish American theatre company producing American writing internationally.
