What does it mean that Hashem turns towards us? Does He ever not turn to us?

As we celebrate Lag BaOmer we feel the pain of the 45 people who died last year in the Meron tragedy and whose first yahrtzeit is today. How do we deal with these conflicting emotions? How can we celebrate and yet feel the pain of the mammoth loss?

They say that you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time. But the person  we fool the most is ourselves! 

We don't instantly change. It's a process and we have to have patience with ourselves.
