Do you use “I’m just not talented” as an excuse to procrastinate and put off learning a new proficiency?

I get this one a lot as a dog trainer; “oh my dog just isn’t like those other dogs. My dog cant be trained.

Sometimes this will even happen right after the human sees me working with a client and says “I bet you cant get my dog to be so well behaved!” to which I reply “what’s your number, ill contact you and give you a free consult.”. Typically, that person will shy away, run inside even. Its hilarious.

Many of us use or current lack of skill as a reason to not become better at things.

The truth of the matter though is that ANY “talented” person you see was at one point themselves a “noob” and they sucked at what they do. It is RARE that someone is a prodigy and comes right out of the womb being a master at their craft.

So what is the secret? What’s the difference between the trained and untrained dog? What’s the difference between the novice and the master? Is it a magical process? Is it some wisdom bestowed by the universe on God’s chosen?

(its consistency of action and repetition)

Something that leads to that inaction as well, is the fakeness you see on social and traditional media.

You never see the blooper reals.

These holier than thou influencers who seem to have just woken up one day as a success story, don’t like you to see them falling on their ass.

 Shit, neither do I.

Todays episode is dedicated to the procrastinators, the people watching from the sideline, and those scared to get into the pool. The water is only cold for a minute at most.

You can do this my friends, I believe in you.

Special thanks to Volkor X for letting me use his epic space sci fi music for the intro and outro of this show. Go show him some love!
