I’ve made multiple attempts at recording the first episode of this podcast, and it almost didn’t happen at all. So it seems strangely fitting that the first episode is, in part, a eulogy for itself. Something to mark its life, its importance, its belovedness. This prologue is made up of voice notes from my phone, layered vocal tracks (read: singing), and some reflections on the ruthlessness one needs to work on a single project, as opposed to many.
This prologue is episode one in a miniseries about groundedness—relishing the patterns, stories, and details that turn daily life into poetry. Stop. Look. Listen. is an opportunity to play with writing, storytelling, oration, collecting, music, atmosphere, and time.
