Nifty ended higher for the fifth straight session, after hitting an all-time high on the intraday charts. At close, Nifty was up 0.37% or 81.6 points at 22122.3. Nifty could face resistance from 22187 while 21954 could offer support in the near term.

Nifty has been displaying a one day up one day down pattern for at least the last 7 sessions. This shows the indecision on the part of investors and traders ahead of the vote on account and US Fed meet. It could now face resistance at 21813 while 21429 could offer support. Nifty could now find 21710 as a tough resistance on the upside while 21026 could offer support on downmoves. Indian markets could open mildly higher, in line with mostly higher Asian markets today and higher US markets on Jan 18

The Nifty is now expected to retest the upper trajectory around 21765-21834 levels in the next few sessions. Immediate support is placed at 21449 levels.​ Indian markets could open flat, despite mildly higher Asian markets today and positive US markets on Jan 10th​

Nifty rose on Jan 04, recovering a large part of losses of the previous two sessions. Nifty could now rise towards 21741 while 21500 could offer support. Indian markets could open flat, in line with mixed and rangebound Asian markets today and despite lower US markets on Jan 04

Nifty came off its life highs and ended the first day of the year with little changed from Friday's close. A late sell-off saw all the intra day gains being wiped off. It formed a triple bottom formation over the past three days in the 21677-21681 band. A breach of this band could take the Nifty down to 21575. On the other hand, 21834 could offer resistance.

Nifty ended at a record high for the fifth consecutive session on December 28. Nifty continued its up move on Dec 28 making yet another upgap. The F&O expiry on Dec 28 could have contributed partly to these gains. It will be interesting to see whether this momentum continues in the new monthly F&O expiry. Nifty could now rise towards 21920 while 21675 could offer support.
