A quiet story of post-apocalypse family-finding
A shadowy, but hopeful post-post apocalyptic story set thirteen years after world-ending events occurred, “Still Lives” is set the wintery landscape of a quiet countryside where there is relative equilibrium among a five person household of unrelated survivors, but still still family nonetheless. The story follows the unfolding after a traveler disturbs the cozy routine of the household, and a sickness of one of its members forces a sojourn to another encampment. While the series carries the optimism of one of its lead protagonists, the Archivist, it nonetheless grapples with the hard decisions of survival, the yearning for a better life, and the compromise of reality. This slow burn mystery has a secret at its core, but the main of it is about these relatively quiet lives and the lessons of winter.

The story isn’t over!!
Thanks for an excellent series, especially apt in light of our current world, even though you created it pre-COVID. I’d love to hear what happens next! Also, what happened to you guys? Your website appears to be inactive now and I don’t know how to find out more. I also could not find the shows you mentioned working on when I searched here in the podcast app. I plan to share this short series with my family. Thanks again for a well written, well voiced, well produced, thought provoking series. Hope to hear more from your creative group.

Pleasant surprise
I was looking for some horror stories to listen to on a drive home across the state. Found this and was very impressed. Enjoyed the story and time spent in that world. A season 2 would be something nice.

Enjoyable
I liked this podcast. It was easy listening, for me. The pacing is slow, but not a crawl. It felt very cozy, tho there is drama and mystery. I’d enjoy listening to more storytelling by these fine folk!

Beautiful, cozy story
This audiofiction podcast is in a class of it’s own. It’s homey, cozy, and beautiful, which is surprising since the setting is in post- apocalyptic USA. I’m really glad I stumbled across it.

Loved this
As a recently new convert to narrative style podcasts I absolutely loved this. The sound production and quality was top notch, characters were mutually so. 10/10

More please
I loved the depth of the characters as each episode peels away a deeper level of their past personalities and motives, though they don’t use traditional names it ends up making them more endearing to the listener who just wants them to succeed against the odds. I want more however, and I find myself attached to this quaint little mismatched family lot and I just want more time with them. Please make another season. Please :)

A Touching, Pastoral Post-Pandemic World
Still Lives is a beautiful, thoughtful twist on the very popular (and unfortunately timely) post-apocalyptic genre. We tend to see a lot of dramatic intense zombie films, or nuclear destruction, but this is instead a quieter story set in an isolated rural homestead with a ragtag bunch of survivors (a scientist, a soldier, a child, etc.), lead by an inquiring archivist, who’s steadfast lives are interrupted by a lone stranger. It questions what a “good life” looks like in severely changed circumstances and it’s tight knit cast plays off each other wonderfully.

An incredibly unique and awesome take on the post apocalyptic genre
I loved this podcast. Granted not much happens but that’s part of the genius of the show. Even though it doesn’t have much action the story is still enticing and has you coming back for more. Each character is perfectly designed and never does something that they would never do like in a lot of movies and other forms of media. There are great twists and everything fits into place making this an awesome and satisfying listen.

Some controlling people
It’s a common trope in "these scenarios" and this isn't as bad as many but be aware. I'd say it needs more seasons and it appears other reviewers have a similar sense. It's a quick listen.

Great but bad ending
This was a great , easy , one day listening podcast . I really enjoyed the podcast but the ending was horrible. They should have kept it going a bit longer so it would have a good ending and maybe go into more details about the past. I think a new podcast about how the characters found each other would be great.

Allegory or Novel??
I’m waiting to see what this group does next. The writing & acting was a bit uneven, like an new acting troop and writer, and kept switching from a novel to an allegory feeling. It was jarring, but the story was interesting enough I made it to the end.

Mostly terrific
Overall concept’s great, but it’s a bit unpolished. A lot (too much) is left unanswered, and the conclusion doesn’t fit the build up of suspense. Voice acting’s decent. Unfortunately the sound design was mediocre - people clearly recorded individually and some sound tinny when they’re supposed to be in the same room. I also had to constantly adjust volume up/down because of random radical changes. Glad I wasn’t wearing headphones. Still, I listened straight through because it’s a compelling podcast. I look forward to seeing this production company grow, and will definitely seek out their other projects.

Voicing would come n go. Sometime good not hear the voices of characters. Overall Ok, for small budgets. When will there be more episodes?

I don’t get it
I’m surprised by all the positive reviews. I found it pretty hard to listen to - bad voice acting and cheesy sound effects. I could forgive that and chalk it up to a small production team/low budget if the story was compelling but unfortunately it just drags, too.

Meh
Acting is not very believable and the story is erratic. I am on Episode 6 and I just want to finish and move on. Had potential. Meh is generous.

Need more!!
This show was so amazing!! The perfect mix of acting and story telling and world building and everything!! Wow!!! You could so bring us at least one more (maybe three 😁) segments of stories about this world!! What about them going back to the other farm?!? And what about the generator?!? It works! Can they make another one I mean the Scientist finished it!!!????! Oh the agony of unanswered questions!! But it was amazing and I look forward to any new material you bring us ❤️

A fascinating, fresh, and fabulously done podcast! Still lives is an original (and frankly addictive) story of life after the apocalypse, in which survivors of an epidemic try to find their own ways in a world that is both foreign and familiar. Wonderful acting, incredible writing— a must listen!

Cheats the audience
I would have to spoil the ending to explain why nothing about this show makes sense so I’ll just say, nothing that the Scientist says to the Cook about the Cook’s invention, nothing about all the handwringing about how it’s dangerous or useless actually applies. And once the reveal happens, everything is fine and dandy. The Scientist has done a 180 flip and is not at all worried. And yet, if you listen closely to the dialogue, it doesn’t actually leave room for another interpretation that would match the real nature of the invention. So it’s a cheat. It’s the Lost effect, where they hold out a mystery box to you but they just jammed in a resolution that doesn’t match it. Consequently, the Scientist ends up looking really bad as an irrational technophobe who conflates technology with evil.

A Brilliant journey written and preformed
Story Draws you in immediately and each character, so diverse & complex, makes you feel their every emotion. Excellent production with superb acting which creates unique mood, feeling, deep thought and paints a complete descriptive, immersive ambiance that feels real and believable. You go on the journey with them. Just finished last episode of the show. Though it Wrapped up nicely and thoroughly concluded all questions organically, I’m sad it has ended. Definitely left room to continue story, a new chapter in their journey....Soooo, Season 2 possibly? I hope so, I’d love to here more soon. Out of the dozens of shows I’ve listened to, this one is my favorite and will be hard to top. Thank you for this brilliant audio treat.

Hooked From Episode One
This was so freaking engaging. I loved every second of it, and I was hooked by the story and characters from episode one. I’m not usually a fan of post apocalyptic stories but this was so much more than that. Superb voice acting, production, and writing. The only thing was for the first two episodes, I found it hard to discern The Scientist and the Archivist, but that became easier as their plot lines divulged.

Welcome to the End of the World
It's a post-apocalyptic tale that's anything but stereotypical and predictable. Interesting characters, a strange world, high level production, and a story that makes me want to find out what's going to happen next . . . the show hits all my buttons!

Still Lives- a mysterious post-apocalyptic tale
Just listened to the first show! Super excited to see what comes next because the first episode left me with SO many questions. What’s with the cook? How come the girl doesn’t know anything? What even happened to the universe as we know it? Love it!
