-28. This passage identifies Jesus as the "Messiah". Jesus' role as the Jewish Messiah was different than what was expected from the Jewish people. Jesus offers an opportunity for each of us to embrace Him as our Messiah and Saviour, but as the passage indicates, following Jesus requires us to "take up our cross and follow" Him. Jesus' invitation is for you, will you accept Him?
