The shift from wrestling to boxing and MMA blows

i love the podcast but the guys take on Canelo isn't right. there's a Pandemic going on and everyone is taking a paycut so Canelo has to too. why defend a guy who wants to get paid for a fight with Yirdim and who's conspiring with the WBC to make such a garbage fight happen for $35 mil?

Use to love the MMA and Wrestling shows, never cared much about the boxing episodes but subscribed for 2/3. Getting rid of the Wrestling episodes lead this pod to be expendable - no need to subscribe & listen anymore as I can get my MMA news from Luke Thomas, Ariel Helwani, etc

Wow, I’m heartbroken. Terrible choice to stop the WWE podcast. It was highlight of my week. Unsubscribing now unfortunately.

This was by far my favorite podcast. Not just wrestling podcast, but podcast. I just enjoyed the way BC & Silverking flowed. They made for a great weekly show to tune into. I understand BC’s MMA & Boxing obligations but c’mon guys to just end it and leave everyone hanging? No one covered WWE like you guys did so I have no other podcast to turn to. Eventually you will see the mistake that this was CBS. You just ended a winning podcast. Do just once a month if BC is that busy but don’t end it.

BC has decided he’s to good to cover professional wrestling on his show anymore, but his show isn’t good enough to warrant a listen on any other topic. Adam Silverstein was clearly the Michaels to BC’s Jannetty and I’m eagerly awaiting the announcement of his next venture in the world of wrestling audio. Hope that barber shop window hurt.

Wrestling pod over mma/boxing. C’mon BC!

This was my favorite wrestling pod for a while. Then they cancelled it to focus on boxing and MMA. Do people even watch boxing anymore? Won’t be long before MMA finishes making it totally irrelevant.

I love BC and Rashad Evans but please get Brandon wise off this podcast. He just brings down the excitement BC often brings. A negative, glass half empty person is not fun to listen to. Still giving this podcast 5 stars since BC is the main guy

Most annoying podcast ever, to the point of being unlistenable. After 8 minutes of nothing but cheesy sound drops one after the other and BSing about nothing that had anything to do with boxing in the slightest, I couldn’t take it anymore. This is “morning zoo” type stuff.

This is for the wrestling version: This was my go to podcast from the time Campbell left Cheap Heat. It definitely lost something when Kostos left, but it was still the best out there. Unfortunately, Campbell has become so ridiculously negative that it’s honestly become painful to listen to. He’s turned into a caricature. I haven’t been able to finish an episode he was on in a while. I finally unsubscribed.

BC is awful on the wrestling side of the pod. Love him in boxing and mma though. However, CBS please give us Silverking and outback Jack for the Wwe pod. BC complains about everything that’s not AEW. The show brought me back to wrestling but good god BC is insufferable

Been hearing BC & Rafe Boogs talk box for MANY years - at first just cuz they were smart & funny, now also cuz they made me a boxing fan. SOC boxing episodes are a highlight of my week.

BC is the best at combining hardcore combat news with humor. I love this show

You already know they’re the best! So many times the BC and Rafe have never laughing out loud on the gym, fantastic!

BC is a busy man, very busy man and I respect the hustle. Silver King is a great co-host and the way he constantly steps up cannot go without praise. You the man Silver King. I do miss well dressed Nick (now casually dressed Nick) but recent arrival of the new third man Outback Jack has also been great. With BC’s Brock Lesnar type appearances on only the wrestling shows it seems....this ramble review is mostly to salute the Silver King for always stepping up as host and Jack’s arrival to fill in admirably on a hot second. As a day one loyal listener to the ITC & now the SOC, as a guy who listened to BC’s debut on Cheap Heat during the original New Era, ain’t no one better than Brian Campbell I just wish he came through more. With that being said, this is still my favorite pro wrestling podcast and unlike fans of the ufc and to a lesser extent boxing, I give credit and respect to the other combat sports. I may not follow those sports very much, I can also say those respected podcast are top notch. Here’s to the best podcast for all combat sports and please BC don’t turn your back on Wolfpac...I mean pro wrestling.

I have listened to BC since his time on Cheap Heat, but lately he’s been sooooo negative it’s getting over bearing now. It’s really hard to listen to this podcast without them bashing everything WWE and never saying anything bad at all about AEW. SilverKing is much more tolerable and the only reason I still listen.

I listen to a few other wresting podcasts and this is far and away my favorite! I love tour guys takes on wrestling and look forward to the pods dropping each week. For someone who has been a wrestling fan for only a couple of years you guys make me want to tune in each week to see what is happening in WWE and the revolution (AEW) while also making me feel like I have an idea of what’s going on in the smaller promotions and NJPW. Keep up what you guys are doing and know it is appreciated by us fans of the pod! -Michael R

To have the respect and admiration of everyone in the fight game can only be accomplishment by true legends of sports journalism. It takes passion, commitment and pure dedication to boxing, MMA and wrestling. Insight can’t be faked and Brian’s got it along with the knowledge and boundless energy to make this the best fighting podcast of them all!

This Brian Campbell guy at least when it comes to WWE is talking about some show in his head certainly not what’s on TV.

Great show thanks to BC he hits a home run every time. would love to have handsome Nick back with him. One of my favorite things about this POD was the time stamps so I could skip the stuff I was not interested in but they no longer put time stamps please bring them back. Still 5 stars

The State of Combat wrestling podcast is the best one out there. BC and the silverking are truly all about thee 5

I'm a huge boxing and wrestling fan and I couldn't recommend this podcast more. I'm sure the MMA stuff is great too because Brian Campbell is a tremendous host but I usually skip those episodes. Simply put, Brian Campbell is the best wrestling host/personality in the world. If you were a fan of Cheap Heat and looking for something to listen to since Cheap Heat is unlistenable and Shoemaker's podcast is too hipstery, check out State of Combat. It proves that Campbell was the true star of Cheap Heat. P.S. I miss Nick Kostos.

B Campbell is clever and witty and funny. He also has very good analysis with all three of the sports being covered.
