When it comes to Star Wars collectors sales events, Hake’s Auctions has established itself as the place to buy and sell rare and coveted figures and collectibles.
And the latest Hake’s auction certainly did not disappoint. Featuring more than 200 Star Wars collectibles, the offerings were vast and covered the original films and the two animated series of the 1970s and 1980s.
Unproduced Power of the Force proof cards, first shot prototypes from every Kenner figure series, gems like a rare Vlix and a AFA 85 Vinyl Cape Jawa, miscards, store displays, international items, sales samples, uncirculated POTF figures, carded figures from the entire trilogy, and a six-figure price for a rocket-firing Boba Fett.
Join host David Quinn for a deep dive into the auction, as he discusses the items sold and shares some fascinating insights into the current trends of the Star Wars collecting hobby.

If the 1970s and 1980s gave us Star Wars, the events of the 1990s established the hobby and birthed the vintage collector.
Six years after George Lucas called for a break from exploring the Star Wars universe, Lucasfilm permitted the property to be licensed again. The 1991 novel Heir to the Empire kicked off a new era of Star Wars stories and events and reignited the fandom.
The decade was packed with new novels, exciting video games, and groundbreaking comic books. The first book on collecting Star Wars action figures and licensed products was released, sending collectors on a hunt for production and preproduction items that still continues to this day.
And Star Wars fans were granted an all new line of action figures, a convention devoted solely to Lucas’ creation, and by the end of the decade, the beginning of a prequel film trilogy.
Join host David Quinn for an exploration of the early part of the decade and what it was like to create new Star Wars content, as well as what it was like to be a consumer and a collector during that time.
