Chad is the sage we need
So many bars dropped on the Clown Wars episode

The Man, The Myth
This pod is a beautiful, expansive, often rambling journey through the mind of the Clown Boss himself. I’ve worked my way through the back catalogue to nearly ‘23 now, and it’s provided so much valuable insight into an art that can be… well, pretty nebulous. This pod answers questions I didn’t even know I had, and is already proving to be a fantastic resource to my own baby clown community (which is still in its embryonic phase, but wouldn’t exist at all without Chad!) It’s great to hear him as a regular dude (ie not in-character) and the interviews with other clowns give perspectives you can’t find literally anywhere else. Super insightful! And also? He’s just nice to listen to. 🙂 Tell your friends! Spread the word!

What an amazing resource!
This podcast feels like a college course in Clowning with your favorite instructor. Thank you Chad for sharing your talents and your friends’ talents with the world.

Stand and deliver!
This is long overdue as I have been listening to this podcast for ages and gleaning extremely helpful and important gems for my clown work. I know the point obviously isn’t entertain us. He makes this very clear, yet, that’s exactly what Damiano has done. He keeps this from being too academic with his extremely funny, repeat sound effects that interlude his pearls of wisdom on modern clown. My favorite is “daddy”. Keep on Clowning please and thank you.

All Hail the Clown Boss!
Stand Up and Clown is a delightful blend of humor and heart, offering lessons in performance as well as life. Each episode feels like a balancing act between theory and introspection as Chad speaks on his own experience and invites fellow clowns to share their experiences in the world of performance, but the real magic happens when they apply those lessons to everyday life. Whether it’s embracing failure, finding joy in vulnerability, or learning to connect with others, their stories are universal in their appeal. With guests ranging from circus legends to modern creatives, the show balances laughter with meaningful insights. Whether you’re a performer or just seeking a fresh perspective on life, Stand Up and Clown inspires you to approach the world with courage, curiosity, and a healthy dose of silliness. I love it!!!!

Great podcast with weird beeping issue
Love the content! The only reason I am taking a star off is because I hate the beeping! Sometimes I have to stop listening to an episode because the beeping is so annoying. Just felt like I should leave a review so that maybe this issue can get fixed. Otherwise great stuff!

Just one Flaw (BEEP)
It’s a podcast loaded with fascinating looks at what it means to clown—and perform more generally. It contains a lot of information that’s useful for any actor. The interviews are fascinating too; everyone comes to clown in a completely different way and they’re a wild cast of characters. But. Starting in Season 2, there’s a little (BEEP) every time the host or a guest finishes a thought. (BEEP) Sometimes they can make it three or four sentences. Sometimes it’s after every sentence. It’s a baffling choice. (BEEP) Maybe it’s to make editing easier? (BEEP) At best it’s a mildly annoying experience, and at worst it makes an episode literally physically unpleasant to listen to. I’ve never had a situation like this—I *like* this show. I want to listen to this show! But each new beep feels like sandpaper being rubbed across my skin.

Fun podcast and live show
Stand Up and Clown (the podcast) is a great companion to Stand Up and Clown (the live show). Both are fun, insightful explorations of the joy and tragedy in art and life. Chad is an incredibly kind and generous person…I’ve seen him and many of his guest perform live in Los Angeles, so it’s great to hear them talk about their work and growth as performers. 4 stars because now I’m hearing phantom beeps in real life. Jim is missed, but glad he is busy on special assignment. JIM! JIM! JIM! JIM!

One of the clown podcasts
There’s a lot of brilliant advice for free. There’s also a lot of regular advice that’s also free. I don’t always agree with Chad, but I really appreciate the thoughtful discussion.

The best podcast about clowning
...and performing in general! Would love to use this space for a bit but I will be sincere and say this is a podcast that I love and never miss. Smart, fun, insightful. Always leaves me in a good mood and with something useful to think on / about

writing this of my own free will!!!
This podcast is such a great exploration of artistry and the twin glories of triumph and failure. Vital discussions around the relationship between audience and performers. So many great guests with different perspectives on live performance. Plus Jim!!! (to be clear I am NOT writing this review under duress. I’ve never been held against my will and I don’t even know what Chad’s basement *looks* like)

Astoundingly informative and funny
What more do you need? Not only does this podcast help change the modern perception of a clown, there a deep dives in audience reactions, communication in performance, individual characterization, and so so much more. To say clowning and Chad’s teachings have been psychologically and emotionally satisfying in every possible way. Hard recommend

A poem
I listen to it all the time. It’s the best clown thing I can find. Chad and James are always the same, But every show is a new clown with a new name. If you know, you know. If you don’t? I recommend you give it a go.

Still clownin
Came for the clown talk and stayed for the minute of Jim

art is a strange tool with an emergent function arising from its functionlessness
its all “inside baseball” and i mean that in the worst possible way. I love it.

I’m down to clown with this
Chad is one of the funniest performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching, and the podcast is an equal pleasure to listen to. Love the incorporation of background music. I was dying.

There are people doing what I want to do
Finding performers this pure is rare. A podcast with them in it is a desperately valuable resource.
