Movies today are boring, annoying, agenda driven and lack creativity. In the past, movies seemed to be created for entertainment and comedic value. I could get lost in a movie while connecting to the characters and feeling their emotions. Today they are just characters in a movie that I watch on a screen with no exciting plot and extremely flat dialogue. The creativity in Hollywood is gone. Everyone is so divided it seems to be more about who can prove their views through entertainment than actually entertaining. When someone tries to sell you something it's pretty natural to be skeptical of their product. You touch it, watch it, try it and question it. That's how it feels to walk in a theater, skeptical of the product they are trying to sell me. If I want that feeling I can go to the automall. When I walk through the theater doors on the red carpet and aroma of popcorn seeping into my hair and clothes I want to feel excited, emotional, laugh, cry and walk back out thinking about what I just saw for the next day. It's been years since I felt that. Top Gun Maverick was the first film in a long time that gave me that feeling but I'm not sure if it was just the opening scene with the nostalgic music that pulsed through my veins or was it really that good. I'm hoping for the latter but still question it. I'll still continue to start a movie in hopes of being swept away into a dream like reality that a movie once was but I'm pretty sure within the first 2 minutes I'll be sadly disappointed. Please Hollywood bring back the fun creative enternainment that once excited us to our core. I'm pretty sure we're all tired of the boring, annoying, same agenda serving movies you've put out year after year after year. How are you still in business.
