Y'all, for a very long time I've struggled to explain this funny thing inside of me that demands authenticity, regardless of the cost. I've done my best at explaining that here tonight. The Latin word "integritas" comes about as close as I can figure, but it has a lot less to do with morality than it does with maintaining a "wholeness," and in my case, my magic.

Y'all, I simply cannot let it go. Sometimes, a Batchild will say something that hits deep and then? I'm on the porch talking to the trees for a bit, lol. If there's anything that my Witch ecology has struggled to teach me, it's this lesson: sometimes, you have to let it die. I've been thinking a lot about what we give up, what we allow to slip away, and what can actually be stolen from us. I assure you, Batchildren: your magic cannot be stolen. I know it feels that way sometimes, especially when we love someone. But you can always refuse, especially when it comes to your light. Be careful what you concede to losing. Y’all, It’s been a while (and now I can hear the song by Staind in my head) since I’ve had to actually deploy my sword.  As a Crone, as a grandma, I thought this was over.  Ah, the folly of a Gen-X Witch. And I’m ready.  But it does occur to me that I’ve talked with y’all about dropping grief and lifting steel, but I haven’t gone in deep on how to prepare.  This extra long episode digs into that—sorry about how long I went—but it was time to share it. Hey, y'all, I hope you had a wonderful Summer Solstice/Litha! Thank you again for letting me take that weekend off-- I really needed to focus and be in that moment.
