April 30th episode
Wow, this Baumgartner Rep just spews MAGA nonsense for nearly the entire interview. The host tries to redirect him but really should have been more confrontational, especially when he calls Seattle area voters and the Seattle mayor morons. He accuses anyone on the left of our national politics as acting out of “Trump derangement syndrome” yet he is the one who sounds as if he is deranged… “MAGA derangement syndrome” perhaps?

Truly Balanced
Libby has a respectful ear to her guests. I value her ability to listen and pose thoughtful questions that broaden my perspective and seam closer the divide. Her professional ability to articulate and gather ideas without offense should be methodically taught across NPR’s journalism.
I return to Sound Side for the balance.

Unfortunate they are covering national stories and lack rigor
Do we really need kuow’s take on google’s ai synopsis in search results? Do we need them discussing palestine? Why retread ground the NYT and BBC cover with far more resources and access?
What we need is for kuow to cover solutions for our broken school system, solutions for bike and pedestrian mobility, solutions for the homeless crises, solutions for downtown office vacancies. Keep it local please!

Push back
If you are going to interview public figures, like Mayor Bruce Harrell for the episode on art vs graffiti, don’t just give them an open mic. The interview did not have any follow-up questions or real push back on the mayor’s assertions or points. Sure you opened up with some voices from the local art community, but where was that perspective in the interview? Disappointed.

Loving Soundside
I am so glad KUOW created this unique show. The topics and guests are so interesting, especially to us here in the PNW. So glad to have the podcast for when I miss it live. Thanks!

Great PNW storytelling and reporting
Loving this new show so far - and especially love hearing stories and reporting from all around the Pacific Northwest. Keep it up!

Congratulations on making a great show!
I love Soundside! This is the best thing I’ve heard in ages. I really appreciate the effort that goes into making the stories and hearing the experiences of local people. I learn so many fascinating and delightful things about the history, the events and the people who live here and Libby is the perfect person to host this show.
