Best storytelling
As a transplant to the northwest, I’ve really enjoyed how the show introduces me to quirky, interesting tidbits of life in the northwest in a way nothing else has!

Truly Changed the Way I Think
This podcast has truly made me feel more connected to people and this city. And has ultimately changed the way I think about things.

The best Seattle podcast there is
Really great programming with interesting life stories about a range of people in the northwest. The show is just fantastic- emotional, authentic, you learn stuff. It’s most like how This American Life used to be, back when that show told great stories instead of wallowing in liberal propaganda. Start with one of their year end “best of” podcasts.

This is what public radio is all about!
Interesting information about the Puget Sound region.

Why isn't everyone listening to this show?!!
As a regular KNKX listener & member, I've always steered clear of this show as just Seattle-centered talk show; never really connecting it to the stories I'd passively listen to on Morning Edition or All Things Considered. And then like magic I mindlessly tuned in for the January 15, 2018 show & both my husband & I were captivated by an hour of exceptional storytelling. It was well-constructed episode with a theme built around some very thought-provoking stories. Kudos to Gabriel Spitzer! Another reason to support the work of this great station!

My favorite podcast
Sound Effect manages to stand out in a crowded field of audio narrative journalism. While the focus is local to the Pacific Northwest, the weekly themes are universal, and always explored with a genuine sense of open-minded curiosity. Really great stuff!

Best podcast in Pacific Northwest
Sound effect has great stories every week and I always regret not listening to an episode. Since Allie ferguson arrived, the stories have gotten more powerful and important. Great story telling.

Don't need to tell me twice
I love the show, but I do not like hearing segments of the podcast twice. Just send me the show in the same format that it is broadcast on the radio.

Incredible Show
It's an amazing thing to have a "This American Life" quality show here in the PNW. The caliber of stories and diversity in narratives is above and beyond what fills most podcasts. Sound Effect is a show that delivers.

Stories you want to hear...
This show is full of compelling, well crafted stories. They are focused on the Pacific Northwest, but they could be happening anywhere. Good stuff!

Outstanding Podcast
This is a great podcast. What public radio should be. Interesting stories, great production values, host and guests are intelligent, articulate, and thoughtful. Look forward to every episode.

Great PNW news!
This is one of my favorite sources for in depth news for Seattle in particular and the NW in general.

Up close and personal
There’s nothing quite like Sound Effect. Sure there are format comparisons to be made to national shows, but that’s just it, Sound Effect isn’t national, it’s local, it’s here. You connect with the stories because it’s your friends and neighbors telling them. The result is an ever evolving heart-to-heart with Seattle and the surrounding communities. There’s no better way to spend a Saturday morning.

Phenomenal
What a fantastic show. It's great for Pacific Northwest people, but you're going to be wowed even if you're not familiar with the region. The team is outstanding.

Innovative
So nice to hear a show that gives the weird, creative things rather than just talk news.

Local and friendly but relevant anywhere
This is my favorite podcast. I look forward to listening to it everyone a new one is published. There is a creative theme each week and you never really know where the interviews and stories will go, but it's always intriguing.

New favorite show
I just moved to the PNW from Florida and quickly fell in love with Sound Effect. It has a short segment on this week’s news so I can get my news fix, and it also has a lovely collection of stories, most centering on people, places, and things in the PNW. It’s great! I never miss it.

Sound Effect is the northwest’s own This American Life (and with way better music). Listen up!

Thank you!!
As 'the other' station has cut local shows more and more, it is so nice to hear KPLU creating shows that spend more than 2 minutes on a story. Thanks!!

A great introduction is the Repetition episode. It’s a fantastic podcast that covers varying degrees of topics. Highly recommended!

Perfect.
Sound Effect (gotta love a pun) is a perfectly dynamic, witty, diverse, and curated show which has become a cherished part of my Monday morning routine. I’ve laughed, cried, and grimaced on my way to work while listening. Gabriel has a charmingly personable demeanor whose presence brings a seamless flow to the hour. Keep it coming, oh team of Sound Effect.

Great show
Sound Effect is the one radio show I make sure I listen to every week. The unusual presentation of the week's news coupled with the truly creative storytelling is exceptional. This is the kind of show I listen to NPR to hear.

LOVE
I have listened to every episode - I love the subject choices - and the different interpretations ("Dirt" meant soil and gossip!) Music accompaniment is spot-on too. Wonderful new show

The "it" modern storytelling show
Sound Effect is it when it comes to the best modern radio show that tells highly produced and beautifully scored stories. My favorite episode, "Dirt," took the topic of dirt and made me care about it in so many surprising ways. From an exploration story about a prison worm farming program to an emotional piece about a former gossip columnist (dirt=gossip in that case), I was taken on a dirt journey and enjoyed every minute of it. Sound Effect is for listeners who care about things.

This is a fantastic new show! I love the variety of stories that are covered- the reporters go in depth to bring different perspectives to each show’s topic. The hosting is top-notch: professional, but humorous and easy on the ears. What a gem you have in this show, Seattle!
