First recited at the Rio Grande Valley Poetry Festival 2021, this piece speaks of India, Kashmir, the death of the girl child and infanticide, the rapes, the blinding injustice under the garb of a lockdown, the otherness of communities, the hunger of power, and the restless women who will rise one day.

Midnight sonatas buried in dreams that hover. Words rain, pour, or sometimes drizzle. Soul worn on sleeve my words have no control. They remain free. This is my world where words play and dance and there are no rules because every single one gets broken. Sharing my poetry, thoughts, realisations, relationship and dating perspectives, actualisation and life. I know what I want and every single day there emerges, in the horizon, yet another one to walk to and experience. I can still be lost but that’s one of the perks of being Sandhya Suri. Welcome to #unmute - may you delight in your journey with me.
