Brilliant and wide-ranging
Wade is a brilliant journalist, historian, analyst, and storyteller who takes a down-to-earth approach to the futuristic visions of science and technology which flood, and have for decades - if not centuries - flooded, our imaginations. If you’re into shows like 99% Invisible or Radiolab, you can’t go wrong with Soonish.

Always Insightful
Wade picks interesting topics and discusses them in-depth, with thorough research and relevant applications. I especially loved the most recent episode (EP24) about art influencing science. Great podcast—Thanks for making it!

Does not make me a better person
Too liberal leaning , opinions have been formed and they are just looking to have you agree. This is a podcast for folks who have very liberal views and enjoy having them reinforced. personally, I’m looking to be informed and ideally entertained at the same time. I signed up for this one because the lonely palette podcast recommended this one (a damned fine podcast I recently discovered). On soonish, I just finished listening to the Facebook episode, I felt like the host was basically convincing me to leave Facebook (picture ominous music when facebook is discussed and cheerful happy music when people pulled the plug ). There may be legitimate reasons to leave Facebook but didn’t feel this episode explained them well... there were references to some events but I would have to go dig to learn more.

So cool and curious
I like Soonish because it just explores things in a really interesting way. I don't really think about the future like he does so it really helps me understand things in a way I wouldn't have. Wade is the best host, he just runs alongside things and helps me appreciate big concepts and little details too.

The enemy exhibit is no longer at MIT 0 (boo-hoo)
I listened to Looking Virtual Reality In The Eye. This is the 1st time I listedned to the Soonish podcast. I am hooked and subscribed in Overcast. I plan to listen to all back episodes. I also ordered the Soonish book and am awaiting the AudioBook to be pubished in March 2018. I found the description of the VR exhibit sp intreguing, I was all ready to book Amtrak tickets and hotel reservations. But when I searched for it on the web, was SADLY disappointed to find the the MIT exhibition closed Dec 2017 and there are no other USA exhibits panned!!

An interesting and likeable add to my podcast list
If you like books like "Against The Gods: the Remarkable Story of Risk", Boorstin's "The Discoverers" or "The Creators", or even TV shows like "Cosmos" or the BBC's "Connections", then this is the Podcast for you. Well produced and thoughtful, it's an enjoyable listen to while walking the dog or stuck in traffic. I'm disappointed every time it's over and can't wait for the next.

Best Science Podcast Ever
This is a super engaging, insightful and wise podcast. You don’t have to be into science or tech to enjoy it, since it deals with questions affecting nearly all aspects of modern life. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Stimulating
Wade asks great questions and elicits juicy details from the folks he interviews. Reminds me of Terry Gross.

Thinky and entertaining
Wade Roush does a fantastic job of showing how the near future is something that should be on your mind. His subjects and topics are all very interesting and he does a great job of giving you a lot of fodder to chew over after the podcast is done. Well worth listening to.

two thumbs up
Soonish explores important provocative issues in an accessible layman-friendly style. the production is first-rate and Wade’s host persona is warm and likable and most of all credible. He does his homework and brings on experts with various points of view. Underlying it all is his optimistic view of the future, the notion that life can and will be improved.

Looks into the future by examining the cutting edge and fringe technologies. Simple and elegant podcast.

Engaged
I tend to subscribe to a lot of podcasts and then have my attention drift away to other things after the first 5 minutes or so. Soonish has proved the exception. Fully captivating from start to finish, I find myself looking forward to the next issue.

It's not often that I get more done
by taking a half hour away from work, but I learn a ton of things from soonish that make the rest of my team more effective.

curiosity, stubbornness, and idealism
That's a quote from the astropreneurs episode, but stands well for the Soonish perspective. Wade Roush strikes a thoughtful and engaging balance between pragmatic and optimistic, and has a palpable affection for emerging technologies and the entrepreneurs who are "partway down the road" to shaping the future.

Charming and engaging
This podcast is full of really interesting ideas, and thoughtful takes on the implication of present efforts to change the future. Really nice reporting and sound design.

Fun stuff
This is more of a history podcast than a science one, which is good because predicting the future is hard.

Fascinating topic. Enjoyed hearing from the various startups driving new space. Let's go to the Moon!

Delightful and provocative
Wade is a careful thinker about the future, treats production like it's a main character in a story, and is super generous with links to other future and tech-focused storytellers. Soonish is on my Podcast shortlist, and will stay there no matter technological future awaits us.

wonderfully interesting
Great listen -- throught provoking, imaginative, and inspiring!

Soonish is about the long view
Great podcast! Wade asks interesting questions like "How many of the technologies in the 2001 movie have been realized?" (Answer: hardly any.) And then he follows it up with history of technology and why innovation happens in the long view. It's well-produced, and a lot of fun.

what our technology choices say about us
Excellent! A thought provoking podcast with professional production value which considers technology trends and, perhaps most interestingly, yields episodes that help start a conversation about what those choices mean for our future as human-beings. Keep 'em coming!!

Soonish - A Podcast with a Bright Future
Wade's first podcast is the perfect lead episode to explore society, culture, science and technology - where we've been and where we might be going. Wade's discussion of the advancements that have and mostly haven't happened was a compelling. As one who saw "2001" when it was released, every clip and comment took me back to my experience in the theater and the many times afterward that I have pondered this movie. I thank the guests and host for explaining some aspects that I never understood and confirming others. I'm subscribed and look forward to the future of Soonish.

Entertaining AND illuminating!
I'm really enjoying these Soonish podcasts. Insightful, inquisitive, Mr. Roush is doing a great job investigating things that are in the past, as well as just around the corner!

Many layers to this great new podcast
Soonish is a terrific combination of great science knowledge, well edited interviews with engaging subjects and great sound design. Not at all surprising given his journalism background (including writing for Science magazine , among many others) but all the more delightful because of his obvious passion for the subject and the medium. I already gobbled up all the episodes and subscribed so I won't miss any

Great storytelling and audio production
Wade is a great storyteller. I was a fan of his work at Xconomy and he is a natural storyteller for radio or podcasts and he chooses topics that are always interesting like RadioLab on NPR.

Thought-provoking and sweeping
Wade Roush is onto something really big in this podcast. The juxtaposition of what we imagine the future to be and the reality makes for a wide-reaching, limitlessly fascinating kind of storytelling, and Soonish delivers. It's intelligent, well-produced, and a quirky blend of intellect and pop culture that lends itself to a really diverse audience. Soonish is completely dependent on nowish...how odd that we lose sight of that. Highly recommended listening!

Truly Exceptional
Wade does a beautiful job here, gathering the proper sounds and weaving them together in a really delightful and welcoming way - which is just the beginning! Beyond his excellence with the technical, his mastery of narrative and thought-provoking questions further solidify my love of what he's doing here. Important questions about our humanity dwell within his insightful points about our (often incorrect) predictions of the future.

A very good listen
I've enjoyed the first two episodes of this podcast very much and I look forward to hearing more. I like podcasts that inspire me to see my world in new ways and this program does that by challenging my perception of the present and reminding me what I thinking 30 years ago about what things would be like today. Where's my flying car??

Mind-opening, expansive
I love how Soonish makes me think – and see things I might have not noticed before. Best yet, it gets me thinking about the future (and we all need to be doing that). Can't wait for the next episode.

Thought provoking and fun
The is a great podcast that makes you see the present in a new way by reflecting on the expectations of the past. It raises very interesting questions about where humanity and our country are going. The theme of the first episode frames the challenge of achieving great things as a society at a time when we seem to have lost the collective will to solve big problems. Very thought provoking stuff!

What the future reveals about the present
Great new podcast operates under the premise that our thoughts about the future reveal interesting insights into our present. The first episode revolved around one of the greatest scifi movie of all time: 2001 a Space Odyssey

Smart, engaging, promising
Great productive podcast idea: how and why we predict the future and with what results. First episode really engaging, excellent production values. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
