Entertaining supplement to Deadwood
I couldn’t get into Deadwood when it was on HBO. Maybe I was too young to get the nuance of the dialogue and wanted a more formulaic violent western. Coming back to it in middle age, I felt I needed a podcast companion to really process all that understated humor and deconstruction of the western. This pod gave me that and then some! These guys are insightful, funny, and sound like a good hang. Lots of useful background in addition to recap and analysis. My only critique is that I wish these two did more prestige shows.

“Announcing your plans is a good way to hear God laugh.”
I am a huge Deadwood fan. I watched the series in its original airing. I have since done at least a dozen rewatches. This past month I decided to do another rewatch and was searching for other opinions about the show. Clay and Wes do a great job of breaking down the show from production aspects, to acting, and plot analysis. The humor and structure to the podcast enhance their breakdowns. I highly recommend this podcast!

Something Pretty
Wes and Clay are a duo who truly enrich a rewatch of Deadwood, one of television’s best ever. Guys, how about tackling another of them after you complete Deadwood? The Wire, Breaking Bad, Mr Robot, Twin Peaks the Return, Six Feet Under… I’d rather rewatch great TV than settle for the mediocre, and a great podcast like yours adds dimension to the experience for the rewatcher — or first timer. More, please!

Excellent Podcast
They are very thorough in their analysis. I’ve binge listened. One of the best podcasts for HBO’s Deadwood fans. If you liked the show, it’s a must listen.
