4: Is literature worth my time? (with Mr Mills and Dr Meeuwis)
Welcome to the first KEScast of this academic year! Lead by new Year 12 students Sofia, Jay, Kate, and Year 13 student Maia: today we are discussing "Is literature worth my time?" (it absolutely is). We are also joined by our English teacher Mr Mills and Dr Meuuwis of the University of Warwick. Mr Mills, our English teacher at KES, is discussing the portrayal of Shakespeare in film and expresses his views on the declining popularity of reading. Our second guest is Dr Meuuwis. Dr Meeuwis is Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor of English at the University of Warwick. Today, he emphasises the evident contrast between literature and film adaptations as well as highlighting the value of theatre. Enjoy!
