Sometimes, it can be hard to wrap your head around a large problem. It can even make it feel impossible.
In last week’s episode, Alina and I talked about taking her 18 month project and breaking it into smaller, more manageable pieces.
In today’s episode, I’ll go through some examples and share how you can put this idea into reality in your own work.
We'll follow a 5 Step framework to understand how to start tackling a large problem and some tips to set yourself up for success.
- Begin with the end in mind - understand why you are doing this in the first place
- Think about what drives what - start with the biggest levers
- Just jump in and start
- Pull people into the journey quickly (stakeholders, customers, teammates, etc)
- Build checkpoints along the way - self reflection points, team reflection points, course corrections, celebrations, etc.
Happy listening!
