In December 2021, tornadoes ripped through Western Kentucky. The devastation was hard to imagine. It was national news, and all over social media everywhere you looked. But now, months later, the headlines are filled with other world events that are more pressing in the eyes of the media. What’s going on in Western Kentucky today? What’s going on in regards to the rebuilding effort today, and maybe more importantly, in the future? On this week’s show Kurt and Chad talk with Rob Minton and Rich Shanks Jr. of Crossroads Missions and businessmen Dave Stewart and Brian Sampson about a 3 yr plan that is in need of 5,000 volunteers to help rebuild Western Kentucky towns hit by the tornado. The headlines are gone, but the need for help is not.

When you hear the word discipline what comes to mind? Often it’s in a negative connotation, as in disciplining your children. But what about spiritual discipline? The root word for discipline is “disciple,” as in being a disciple of Christ. Praying, reading the Bible, going to worship are all staples in most Christian’s lives. But how can the spiritual disciplines be soul transforming in the life of a believer - as a lifestyle - not just a weekly event. On this week’s show, 37 year seminary Professor David Roadcup, along with 3 of his past and current students, talk about spiritual disciplines and the relationship between Gods grace and our effort.

This weekend’s show is bittersweet. It is a previous broadcast from 2019 about a dear friend of our show, Sherm Henderson, who had a death defying experience a couple of years ago that he bounced back from, but recently went home to be with the Lord and is now alive and better than he’s ever been in heaven! It was a great story then and it’s a great story now, in light of eternity. Please enjoy and pass this along to your friends who need some encouragement. Thanks for listening!
