Work publised in Psychopharmacology last month from Assoc Prof Sean Cain's group at Monash University shows that the SSRI citalopram increases sensitivity of the circadian system to light. This is an important finding that has major implications for the treatment of depression, and may explain the relatively poor response to SSRIs in people with depression and eveningness type. In this interview Sean discusses his research and it's implications for the management of depression. Tax deductible donations to fund further research in this area can be made via this link.
