I was in a really dark place last year. I always thought that going into law enforcement was what I was supposed to do after graduation. My entire immediate family is in law enforcement. I wanted to make them proud. So I worked really hard. I made lieutenant at the end of my 3rd year. But after a major assault the department showed me a new side. I saw how much my superiors didn't care. You made me realize that it was up to me to change my situation once I saw that I wasn't valued at my place of work. You also spoke into my reality of finally starting my business. One night I cried for about an hour. The next day I started looking for other jobs with my same salary in my area. Last month I was offered a position with the same pay and I took it. I also started my lash business after finally taking a lash course. I love making new designs for my clients. I'm Tailored.esthetics on IG. You are truly an inspiration. Next on the list is planning out my month, week and day with a self care day every week. I already book a hair appointment for next Friday and I think I'll try a new nail color. Slay girl slay helped me get back to me. Thank you !

Thanks Ashley! Slay Girl Slay has truly blessed my soul since I began listening to it. The take aways are aways right on time. I was struggling with doing things alone until recently. I used to go places by myself and I’m not sure what caused me to stray away from that. At the beginning of 2024 I took my first solo trip and I felt so good! I felt victorious! It gave me the confidence boost that I needed when it comes to doing things alone. This episode was the confirmation that I needed…to continue “doing me”. Thanks again sis! 💚

I thought I came across this podcast by chance, but as I listened for the first time to the most recent episode, I realized that this podcast popped up on my page for a reason. When I tell you that I felt every single word in the prayer at the end of the episode. I was in tears afterwards because whew, those were the words I needed to hear. I’ve listened to soo many other black women empowerment/motivational podcasts, and they typically all sound generic and repetitive. Ashley is SOO RELATABLE and will really give you that extra push to want more for yourself and actually start working towards it. I find myself listening to her podcasts and feeling like “wow, I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Im not the only one going through *such and such*”.
