Season 3, Episode 6: Maurice Jelks grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. But despite living in a predominately black neighborhood and being bused to a school with mostly white kids, Maurice didn't see color. He was full of hope and didn't believe the chatter from some family members, who called white people "blue-eyed devils." But that doesn't mean Maurice Jelks never experienced discrimination and hate because of the color of his skin. That doesn't mean that Maurice Jelks didn't cry when George Floyd was killed. That doesn't mean that Maurice Jelks isn't forced to have the hard conversations with his two sons about a problem that continues to plague our country. The hope is still there, but now it's a little more guarded. This is a powerful episode to bring Season 3 of "Sixes" to an end. #amplifyblackvoices

Season 3, Episode 5: We continue to amplify black voices on this six-part series. My featured guest on Episode 5 is DeAndre Black. I was intrigued to visit with DeAndre - mainly because of his age (he's the youngest guest in Season 3) and he didn't grow up in Texas, like the rest of my Season 3 guests. He definitely brought a different perspective to the table. #sixes

Season 3, Episode 3: My featured guest on this episode – which focuses on Black Lives Matter – is Rod Nelson, a self-proclaimed "black Christian conservative." His perspective on politics and race relations were eye-opening. It was a different dialogue than the first two episodes in Season 3, but an important conversation, nonetheless. #sixes

Season 3, Episode 2: My featured guest on this episode – which continues the conversation surrounding Black Lives Matter – is Clifford Jingles. I actually recruited Clifford to play football at Blinn College, and I got the opportunity to coach him for one season. That was a lifetime ago. I was excited to reconnect with Clifford, who has always had a special place in my heart. #sixes
