Sports Illustrated once estimated that 78 percent of NFL players are either bankrupt or under financial stress within two years of retirement and 60 percent of National Basketball Association players are broke within five years of leaving the sport. Jeremy Herider was able to beat that statistic until 2007 when the housing crash destroyed everything and led to bankruptcy. In the 13 years that followed he rebuilt a Real Estate empire and in 2020 during a pandemic his company did just over half a billion dollars!
