2.4 Evabrenda Wathoni: In her shoes
The crew sat down to discuss content production, the world of media in general and TV to be specific. Television and content producer Evabrenda makes an attempt to comfort the trio that podcasting has a future in Kenya. In retrospect, it must have been an attempt to make them forget the fact that everyone thinks Evabrenda is barely 16 years old. ABOUT THE GUEST Evabrenda has already amassed commendable experience in the world of TV, Film and Theatre Production. She is currently working at Metropol TV, a premier business-focused Television station in the heart of Nairobi where she is involved in production of their daily live morning show. Additionally, she works on production of a pop-show at Metropol Tv with the name E-magazine during the week and amazingly she is still booked during the weekend. Because apparently production isn’t too amazing to us already, Evabrenda decided to be so good at editing content that she now works during the weekend with famous Kenyan comedian Nyambane (Walter Mong’are) and Olive Gachara, CEO of Couture Africa. Under the two and a whole crew, they produce Nyambane’s Kitchen, a show that creatively turns a cooking into an informative and entertaining talk show. Her past experience? Fam, that’s just a lot. Listen to this episode as she narrates her incredible journey from doing theatre, to an intern at KUTV and is she 16 years or older? Younger? 09. The end of an error: Mental Health, Depression and Hope
Like all good things,  this episode drops late and last - yes. You heard us right. Sisi Watatu season 1 is over and we are glad that you have been with us every step of the way. We bring along two new guests, Kelly and Mora who help the boys tackle a new and somewhat difficult topic to speak about - Mental Health. Kenya currently ranks as the fourth country in Africa with the largest populations undergoing mental health issues. This means that there are at least 1.9 million people undergoing some form of mental health illness. And at least one in every four Kenyans undergoing clinical depression. What does this mean for the youth? We dissect some of the questions going through our minds, the topic yielding more questions than answers. Journey with us, albeit briefly, on this difficult road on "The end of an error". 08: Halftime: Swans and the end of a pod.
Like Kanye's latest album and Kenyan schoolbusses, this episode drops late. The boys get emotional looking back at the podcasting experience thus far. The highs and lows - and general awesomeness of it all. Join us on this introspective journey as we look at ourselves, and to the future to come.  We also recognize our fans (hereafter known as SWANS - Sisi Watatu fANS). We do appreciate your listenership. Important questions are also raised in the episode: Is this the end of a pod, WIll the Lee jokes ever stop? Will Jesse's hairline ever improve? Escape with us, albeit briefly, from this game of life on Halftime. Outro Music is by Ambasa Mandela and Sarabi Band - 'Mwangaza' . Sisi Wata2 is Written and Produced by Okayze, Lee, and Jesse.  Do remember to subscribe and tell a friend to tell a friend.
