Rebbe Akiva tragically lost 24,000 students. He could very well of gave up then and there. But he didn’t. He went on. As a result, the Torah is alive and well.

Learning Torah isn’t the end game. It needs to bring one to act on it.

The parsha starts out telling us that we must be holy. It’s no coincidence that this falls out during Sefiras haomer when we prepare to receive the Torah on the Yom tov of Shavous.

When the Torah uses the word “Mos” perhaps it’s to teach us that the death of Nadav and Avihu wasn’t a good one.
