Navigating: The Ups and Downs of Mental Health & The Struggles of Being Intentional With Self
What's good, y'all?! We had so much fun catching up over the mic and talking about all the things that has been going on; Let's just say that you are in for a journey with this episode. There are some hot takes on Beyonce/the Renaissance tour and Micheal Jackson (sit down for this one), a very real conversation around mental health and how to identify when your friends may need you to check in, and/or provide support. How can we feel in control of our lives and reality when things just feel .. off? We also talked about the struggles of consistency and being disciplined with ourselves while surviving the pressures that stem from capitalism. Sometimes it's hard to show up for ourselves everyday when there are so many responsibilities just to maintain our livelihood; However it is so important that we are intentional with getting to know who we are outside of survival and making the time to show up for ourselves and community. We hope that you enjoy this weeks conversation and take a few moments to check in with yourself and your people. Ask yourself those intentional questions, have a conversation with your friends to learn what the best ways to support them are, and drink some water. Until next time (which will be very soon), Shay & Bree

Navigating: Maintaining Platonic Connections & Knowing When It Is Time To Let Go
Peace Ya'll! We are so excited to be checking back in. We had a really good conversation about past and current platonic connections in our lives. We focused particularly on the importance of watering your friendships and putting in reciprocal effort to maintain them; but we also discussed red flags with new or old friends, when it's time to reflect on those friendships that may feel a little .. off, if it's time to let them go, and what those hard conversations may look like. We encourage folks to feel empowered to speak up if your needs aren't being met in a particular friendship, and to being open to checking in with your friends to see if their needs are also being met. During this episode we also looked inward and shared how we show up in our friendships with each-other (and others), asked ourselves if we are good friends, and held ourselves accountable on how we could be even better friends. Join us in this conversation and ask yourself those same questions; How are you showing up for the people in your life? How are they showing up for you? Have those hard conversations if needed and continue to build healthy connections; or find peace in letting go of the ones that may no longer feel safe and/or reciprocal. Stay grounded, Shay + Bree
