Life saver!
Show your scars podcast was a life saver during my second acl surgery! I love hearing the stories of others who have gone through the same thing I have. It is encouraging during the times when you feel along in this journey to know that there are so many others who have gone before. I love how they all talk about the mental side of the injury that can be so easily forgotten. Show your scars podcast is inspired and encouraged me throughout my acl journeys. I couldn’t thank Jordan enough for all the support and for making an online community of all of us. If you’ve torn your acl of know someone who has check these podcast out. They will make a huge difference!!

So glad I found this!
I am so happy to have discovered a community where I can not only learn about my ACL/meniscus injury, but also feel a sense of calm that there are others out there experiencing the same thing.
I’m an actress/singer/yogi/runner and my life had to slow down so much when I fell (on stage during a live performance) back in February. Its such a traumatic and lonely journey, and I felt so replaceable. This podcast reminded me that the mental/emotional aspect is super tough for everyone out there (not just me). I feel so much less alone empowered to keep going.
6 months later, I am finally getting my ACL surgery this week. I’m so nervous about the recovery process, but grateful to have this podcast to help get me through! Plus, I’m learning a lot about soccer! Haha. 😊

Great Podcast for the Injured and Family and Friends of the Injured
Great podcast, full of insight, really captures the thoughts and challenges I’ve had during my ACL recovery.
Comparing myself to where I was a day, week, or month ago, instead of where I was before the injury and where I hope to get back to, has been a key mental shift and has helped me celebrate the progress I’ve made so far and feel really good about it.
Knowing how and when to say I’m frustrated, I’m scared, and/or I’m hurting is also crucial to a successful relationship with doctors and physical therapists.

Encouraging and Uplifting
I’m thankfully not a member of the ACL club but had Meniscus and ankle reconstruction from soccer injuries. This podcast address not only the physical but MENTAL side effects of surgery. I love the encouragement gained from this podcast in recovery and embracing my scars.

Fan
I stumbled across The ACL Club and Show Your Scars podcast as a recommendation from a friend who is a soccer coach. I’m a huge fan of the podcast and almost every time I finish listening it’s exactly what I’ve needed to hear.
Jordan has such a great perspective, outlook and wisdom on the injury. Its been so helpful, beneficial and provided an avenue of inspiration and tools to keep going during this long rehab.

Reminds you that your never alone! Must listen.
I’m 16 and I’ve torn my left acl twice. Halfway through my first recovery I discovered the ACL Club. I would listen to the podcasts while re-learning to jog on the alter-g. These individuals come from all walks of life, but who have sustained the same injury creates this great sense of community! Knowing that they have gone through this process, feeling the same high and lows as you makes you feel as though you are never alone. I have really leaned on these podcast while rehabbing my second acl tear as the mental side is much harder this time around. They have gotten me through some of my worst days! 10/10 would recommend not only for individuals who have suffered acl tears but anyone who is struggling with an injury, or anything at all. The universal message is clear we all hurt, we are never alone, and we will make it to the other side with a smile.

Love this podcast!!
After never having a serious injury in my whole life (being only 14) tearing my ACL during basketball devastated me. Still in the begging of my journey (about 2 and a half weeks after surgery) this podcast motivates me to get better!

A podcast that can get you through more than an ACL
I don’t even know where to begin! I tore my ACL end of June playing in an adult league. I realized I was lucky to play as long as I have and not have any knee issues compared to many soccer friends and teammates. When it happened I
and I heard my diagnosis I was so upset. I’ve had friends come back from the injury but I was scared what if I wasn’t so lucky. I started immediately finding out all I could know about ACL surgery and outcomes. A woman who is a trainer I met at a BBQ shared The ACL club IG handle with me and from that point on I WAS HOOKED! I found the podcast and have listened to new and old episodes. It has helped me put my injury and upcoming surgery into perspective. It has completely changed my way of thought which has helped me tremendously in this emotional mental rollercoaster. The physical parts don’t scare me, it was the whole mental game that did. But through this podcast I have been able to overcome thus far all mental roadblocks and be happy even with this stupid injury! Thank you for making this. I have bragged to my PT office all about it and I hope they share so more people can jump on board! IG @saramariearagon

3rd time's the charm!
I'm currently going through my 3rd ACL reconstruction, and this has been a wonderful resource. I wish I had had it the first two times. It's so affirming to hear that even the most elite athletes went through the same struggles and frustrations that I'm feeling now. I've picked up a few small behaviors and habits that have changed my outlook and helped me through this 3rd time. I would recommend it to anyone going through a major recovery. It has been a lifeline, and something I look forward to listening while I'm working through my rehab. @_rachelbarnes_

2 weeks
Wow. I’ve just listened to a couple podcasts and I cannot wait to finish listening to them all. I’m getting ACL surgery in 2 weeks and these podcasts have made me feel so much better about the recovery process. I’m a very active person, I go to the gym everyday. The thought of having to take it slow and focus on recovery was so had but these podcasts have made me almost excited and ready to kill this recovery and get back even stronger than before!

Uplifting and so so needed
I just had ACL surgery 3 on the same knee and am dealing with the emotional ramifications of not being able to do what I love. This surgery has been especially tough as I didn’t know I would need the Acl done until they got in and scoped. Jordan and the ACL club have been a constant source of optimism, inspiration, and hope as I try to get through this battle.
Surgeons and physical therapist and athletic trainers are all wonderful resources and for me they all aided my physical return to play the first two times, but none of these resources were really there to help me get over the mental hurdles. Thanks to the ACL Club for bringing together people who are fighting the same battles as me and for providing a great resource where I can hear amazing, powerful, strong athletes who have overcome the mental battles talking about their struggle and showing that hope and full recovery are really on the horizon.

For the hurting, the healing and everyone in between
Jordan Angeli has created a safe space for the hurting, the healing, and everyone in between. Truly inspirational to whoever is struggling, has struggled or overcame an injury. And if you haven’t gone through an injury this podcast is still for you! You can relate to Jordan and her guest as they share their stories or ‘scars’ rather, because we all have scars - physically and emotionally. And, this podcast not only shares those ‘scars’ but offers advice and just an overall joy to listen too. I highly recommend this podcast!

So Inspiring!!
I was having a really tough time after I found out that I had torn my ACL. I had so many questions about the recovery process and what it would be like when I went back to soccer. I started listening to the podcasts and they gave me a sense of peace about what to expect physically and mentally during rehab and physical therapy. I love hearing from professional athletes because they provide hope that I can come back from my injury better than before. It's also comforting to hear that the athletes had the same mental struggles that I'm having and they can provide ways to cope with them. If you listen to these podcasts, you will realize that you are not alone in the ACL recovery process! If you could get Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, or Brandi Chastain on the podcast that would make my year!

Bianca Henninger!!!!
The podcast with Bianca Henninger is the best thing I've ever listened too and I'm not exaggerating! I have been waiting for a podcast from someone who went through this experience in high school and it has finally come!!! She spoke so true about everything and hit on all the right points I needed to hear! I was having a really rough day, my knee had been hurting for a while after PT and I had felt bad missing Track for Pt and my one friend had even told me "I wish I had PT instead of track" and it was all just making me feel really down so when I heard this podcast and Bianca and Jordan were talking about how you have to know yourself how tough PT is and other people might not understand the hard work you put in I honestly started crying because it spoke so true to me! So thank you so much and I'm about to listen to this podcast 20 more times, I've already shared it with about 5 other people and I know they all thank you too so keep it up ACL Club you're doing great!

The MUST LISTEN podcast!
This podcast is so incredibly helpful for athletes who are recovering from an ACL injury. Jordan is so wonderfully supportive for us athletes who need some guidance during the long and grueling ACL process. She shares so many tips for the both mental and physical side of an injury, most importantly she has taught me that an injury is not a curse, but an opportunity to change for the better! I am so grateful of her and this podcast because I could not be able to go through my ACL recovery without them.

After listening to the interview w/ Jordan Norwood
I really loved the whole podcast, and especially appreciated the different questions you asked Jordan. It was HUGE for me to hear that a pro athlete went through the same things I'm currently going through. I remember thinking the same things he mentioned; "I can walk so my knee must be ok, maybe just a sprain", "my Dr says I tore my ACL so nonchalantly", "visualizing myself back in my sport". It was awesome to be reassured by someone other than a Dr or PT. Just as for him, my faith is the main thing getting me through. I even love the book he recommended by CS Lewis. Overall, the interview with him was terrific! Thanks again for all you guys do and for providing this encouragement. It gets me through all those doubts in the process. Keep it up!

acl review lindsey adams
this was my first time listening to one of the podcast & at first I was doing it for the free bracelet but now I look at it differently . About two years ago I tore my acl and didn't know . doctors said it was a small injury and didn't call for a mri .i rested , got a simple brace and continued playing and had little pain. About a year& a half ago I was playing again and jumped up for a header and when I came down , hyperextended my leg and I completely tore my acl and menicous . I had surgery and went through the long 8 months of recovery. Everything you mentioned in this I went through . Its a hard recovery and i'm back to playing soccer now . I have been for 5 months now and i still get scared to play thinking that I could mess up my knee again . I sometimes lay in bed and cry and work myself up because i'm so scared it's gonna happen again . This isn't about a bracelet anymore . I plan to listen to every single podcast now to hear about other people's journey . Lucky to know i'm not the only one struggles with the journey back.

Absolutely loving the podcasts!
After I had tore my ACL for the second time in October 2016, I decided to do some research to see if there was a club like the ACLCLUB. After I found them I saw the podcasts, and have been in love ever since. When I tore my right ACL my junior year of high school I had no one to help motivate me, but myself. This time after having 2 ACL surgeries on the left knee in under 3 months, I don't feel like I did with the right one. I love the club and the podcasts. It's a must listen for everyone that is going through an ACL or any other type of injury! I would love to see Kara Winger on an episode if possible!

Very Powerful!
Definitely a must listen for any athlete, especially those dealing with an injury! Injuries are a difficult and often long physical road to recovery but the mental and emotional scars are just as important to heal. This podcast focuses on every aspect and creates a truly powerful community of support.

This is fantastic!
This is a fantastic podcast. While PT will help with the physical side of recovering from an ACL injury, it's often the mental side that is the bigger challenge. This podcast goes a long way toward helping the injured athlete and their support group know how to better navigate these difficult and unchartered waters. Great job Jordan!

Great for all athletes - not just injured ones!
As a player who once fought through multiple injuries to stay on the field (ACL's included) it's great to hear stories about how others have overcome at the hightest level... Recovery is about SO much more than just the physical rehab, and general mental toughness important beyond just injury recovery for even the healthiest athletes. Jordan covers it all!
Would love to see a branch out to a wider array of injuries and sports too! Give her the support to do just that :)

Jordan uncovers the secret that scars should be shown to display what you have been through, rather than hidden. This podcast is a game changer for those going through the ACL journey and the years following.
