Katrina Yde is a proud South Dakota girl, raised in the country by her parents and with two brothers. Always a helper, Katrina attended undergrad at the University of Sioux Falls and graduate school at the University of South Dakota to study psychology and clinical mental health counseling. She now works in private practice as a licensed therapist in mental health and addictions. In her spare time, you can find Katrina running, listening to podcasts, reading, doing a crossword or sudoku puzzle, hanging out with her cat named Toast, or volunteering with her non-profit organization, the Jorgen Yde JY6 Foundation.

Katrina and I shared the mic to open up on a conversation about grief. Here’s what we talked about on this episode:

  • Our personal stories of how grief has impacted us (and still does.)
  • What we find comforting when grieving.
  • Healthy and purposeful ways to deal with grief.
  • How we both have brought purpose to the grief that we have felt.

If you are impacted by grief or currently grieving, I encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional to help you process it in a safe and healthy way.
