What can we learn from a story about predatory grooming? You might be surprised.

1. Predators aren't always who or what you might expect them to be.

2. Predatory abusers carefully choose their targets. [Can you name the reasons he might have chosen me?]

3. Predators "Groom the Room" - training people by normalizing questionable behavior over time (months, even years).

4. Trust your gut if something's not right and begin asking questions (especially if you're a parent, teacher, mandated reporter, responsible adult, or a peer/friend).

5. Honor our children's boundaries, affirming their personal radars and "Hard No's". (Just because they say "No" about someone doesn't mean there's been abuse; this is about helping them learn to trust their instincts. :))

Don't you love how my friend stood up for her cousin? We all need someone like her in our corner. (Jeannette, YOU ROCK!)

***WARNING: Though there is nothing explicit or overly descriptive, this episode contains potentially triggering material for CSA survivors.
