No longer a fan
I used to listen to every episode of this show and Rachael’s other podcasts. Now that Greg has become more involved, it seems like episodes that should be completed in one sitting are dragged on and on. Greg’s commentary adds absolutely nothing and just detracts from the stories. It’s a distraction, you can even feel how frustrated it makes Rachael and then she gets snappy trying to stop the interruptions and tangents. Go back to doing this on your own, or start another banter podcast where you talk about your house, where you live, your neighbors, your roadtrips, his sports teams, music festivals, blah blah blah. You’re losing fans because your husband feels the need to be involved but his stream of consciousness is a net negative for your show.

A Great “I’ll give it a try”
Now I’ve been binging for two days. And I’ll be listening to their other podcasts.

Like the concept in the beginning
Now it’s just another podcast. It’s fine but lost. Liked it better when it was Rachel with no extra about life

Pride-The Twelve Tribes
Just caught your episode from a few years ago about the cult in Manitou Springs. As someone who was born in the TT, and actually lived in, and left from Manitou Springs, it’s cathartic to hear these stories of people still finding their way out of this group. It’s been over 20 years since i’ve been gone, and it all becomes a bit blurrier in ways, so thanks for raising awareness about this dangerous group and reminding me of what i escaped.

Used to be a good listen
I can’t listen anymore due to the stupid tangents and it doesn’t help when you bring in a guests. The content is lost. I think you need to do something else. Gonna unfollow the show.

1000 FRENCHMAN CAN NOT BE WRONG….
This is my initial introduction to the podcast. Being an “experienced” true crime aficionado. I see this podcast is “a diamond in the ruff”: Rachel is quite skilled in her true crime research and preparation to grab your attention with her riveting storytelling but her husband is an obvious hindrance to the Rachel’s professional growth.
Listen to pleading of the 95% of your remaining listeners. Dude, if you LOVE your wife get out her way and let her shine. DO NOT make her ask…. Consider finding your own lane …NOT in this genre bc this is not it. BE a selfless, supportive partner and allow your wife to elevate in her true crime journey. I am trying to get thru
My first episode with great difficulty. Maybe he can play anything from non existent to non speaking” role. Or is he one of those husbands.
Parting thought….
WHY is this still a “thing” bc has been more than 6-7 months since “listeners” have spoken unanimously. I encourage you to make the decision that will honor yourself and your listeners. I want to be one of your return committed members!! This should not wait another week. Wishing you all the BEST!!
Song debuts…:: terrible move. Get yourself a podcast for whatever it is you’re tryna do … or say. You continue to interrupt about nonsense, is tiring.
Ms. Rachel, we are all adults who don it require analogy for relevant fact. I’ll check back in a week or two prior to following the show. The current situation is too much.. intriguing topics, proven facts with evident well researched details with your unique delivery.

Disappointing
I used to love this podcast when it was new and Rachel was focused. But now I am so frustrated by all the tangents and stupid personal stories that it just makes me angry! Greg adds nothing and just distracts from the main story. I don’t care about your house renovations. I don’t care about Indiana. I don’t care about Greg’s music. Also what happened to the original premise of sinners? It’s becoming unlistenable!

Alaska was disappointing
This could have been a really captivating episode but it felt too thrown together and chatty. Clean it up

So much inter-personal talking and off topic story telling.

Great coverage! Hi Greg! Keep up the good work. And one day I’ll write you and tell you my listener stories. 💜

Do it alone.
I thought I was the only one who likes the podcast better when you do it alone. I just read some reviews of people who feel the same as I do. I have stopped listening and looked up topics on other podcasts. I think you do a wonderful job just alone. Keep up the great work you are doing alone please.

Husband is annoying
The stories could be interesting but the husband cuts in with so many things that are not pertinent to the stories at all and literally just rambles on. I swear half the episode is always just him derailing the story or distracting the host. He also does not have interesting stories or funny jokes so i don’t know why he feels the need to interject constantly.

Greg needs to go!
Rachael is great in her own right! So invested in her research and story telling. Greg on the other hand feels like a hanger on. His comments are ridiculous, irrelevant, and so self serving. He screams narcissist! He isn’t adding any value to the show, but feels like a pity/ forced peanut gallery that dims Rachael’s light and needs to go!

Incredible topics, trouble with delivery
The topics covered in this podcast are fantastic, but over last couple of years it’s become harder to listen because of the host’s delivery. There has always been a more informal quality to this podcast, which I actually enjoyed in the beginning and I think helped when covering challenging subject matter like cult deaths. Unfortunately, especially with the most recent episodes, it is very difficult to follow the narrative as the host goes off on tangents, doesn’t finish sentences, and leaves long pauses. It might be a lack of editing or scripting, but it really takes away from the great research that I know she is doing.

Good story telling
I do like the show but I find the back and forth between the hosts a little frustrating sometimes. I love the content, I just wish they wouldn’t talk over each other the way they do… however they are married lol and I think I do that with my husband too. It’s over all good stuff ♥️

Not for me
I have no idea what other people see in this podcast. The subject matters are interesting, but the hosts are so unprofessional in my opinion. Talking over each other, really just yammering on about stuff They really seem to have very little direct knowledge of.
Definitely not for me. Surprised it is a Wondery offering.

Interesting topics
I like the topics and the amount of work the host does. But the music added to the narrative is often inappropriate and takes away from the story. I agree with other reviewers that the side jaunts are very distracting.

Good podcast, bad ads.
I like this podcast, the host is laid back and the topics are interesting. However, I have a subscription to Wondery and am still hearing ads. That happens occasionally on other shows, but these ads are particularly obnoxious and are on every episode. Seriously need to review this issue.

Tough
The host literally can’t finish a sentence and is kind of a nervous stuttering mess :( love the topics but a hard listen.

Super Interesting
Part of the reason it’s so interesting is that the podcasters do a lot of research, have great expressive voices, and play off each other well. I thought there no more engaging podcasts after listening to others for 10 years, but I can’t stop listening to this one. 10 stars if I could leave them. Love my Colorado homies!

Eghh
For the most part I like it or the idea anyway. I just think that if you have a script that you should stick to it. Her going off on a tangent and ranting makes it a bit difficult to stay interested. I just feel like you’re complaining. Also, she’s a tiny bit too emotional for me. We’re not here cause they’re “good people”. It’s called Seven Deadly Sinners for a reason.

I can’t do it anymore. Stop CRYING!!!!!

Fav Sunday podcast
I always look forward to listening to this podcast while I’m doing my Sunday chores. Rachel and Greg are great storytellers.

I Tried
The topics are interesting, but I can’t get through an entire episode due to the incessant banter. I love the commentary and banter to an extent, but it was painful trying to get through a single story with all of the digressions. Save some of the commentary for after you manage to get the story out, please.

Fav podcast
Love love love this podcast! Rachael is just equal parts hilarious, real and the sweetest soul. Very interesting topics that are well researched and told in a very entertaining way with attention paid to the victims of the crimes too. Also love when Greg is on too! They are adorable together and a great compliment to each other.

No randos on the podcast
Your bored, sighing, platitude-spewing neighbor should go back to homesteading. Not everyone you know should be on the podcast. But especially not someone who seems so uninterested. I may not listen anymore. Good topics overall but the lazy convo is no better than what I could have while standing in any suburban Starbucks line.

One of the Best
I discovered this podcast because I follow Nick Bryant, the amazing and fearless investigative journalist, and saw that he appeared in one of her episodes. The quality of that episode and his high regard for her work led me to subscribe and check out other episodes, and I’m very impressed.
Way too many true-crime podcasts fail to contemplate the very real possibility of high-level law-enforcement corruption, sometimes even including complicity in some crimes. Unfortunately those problems are so ubiquitous that refraining from covering them compromises the quality of many otherwise-excellent investigative podcasts. This podcast does not suffer from that limitation. She follows the facts fearlessly and does excellent work. I look forward to every episode.

This host is so annoying
Rachel, do everyone a favor and stop interrupting Greg. This isn’t the time to show off your comedic skills (which are non-existent). Let the subject tell the story. Your constant interruptions destroy what would otherwise be a good series. Couldn’t make it through a single episode.

Omaha, Nebraska
I’m really loving your show…I have learned stuff about Nebraska that I never knew existed when I was growing up in western Nebraska (Scottsbluff)…and when I had to move to the big, bad, scary center of all things bad that happened in Nebraska (Omaha) for medical school in 1979-1983…I guess that my mother was right when she said that everything bad that happened in Nebraska happened in Omaha!
I must say, though, that I don’t understand why anyone who has ever been sexually abused or spiritually abused would want to listen to this particular podcast, making it necessary for you to give trigger warnings as frequently as you feel are necessary…Anything, keep up the good work! I love this series!

Emotional much
I’ve tried getting into this podcast twice now and it drives me crazy how the host cries at everything. The subject stubbed a toe?? Crying….. I’m done

Ugh. Greg is awful
Greg, stop interrupting the flow with inane commentary. It’s like you’re talking just to be part of the show but you contribute nothing. The stories are interesting but need to be better scripted. Rachael goes off the rails and then has trouble getting back.

I’ve really tried
I have attempted numerous times to listen to this podcast. I haven’t made it through a single episode without having to turn it off from annoyance. The host LOVES to talk about herself, doesn’t seem to have any sort of script or guideline to follow, and the random pauses!! I kept thinking my phone had messed up, but nope! It was just the host’s brain buffering. Seems like a college age girl who forgot she had a presentation due, so she scrambles to cram all the information in that she can before she has to do her presentation. Amateurs at best.

Amateurish
This has good info, but she really needs someone to help her with the script. She randomly pauses in the middle of sentences, which is annoying. Had to stop halfway through the episode even though it was interesting just because I couldn’t handle listening anymore.

Abuse
Listen to the episode put out during Xmas 2023 about Santa Claus/Saint Nick. Rachel is so rude to her husband, in my opinion degrading him by cutting him off and not letting him speak. Same with the Chowchilla Bus case. Greg, you are being put down and abused. Good luck.

Worst crime podcast ive ever heard
All the host does is talk about herself which we clearly don’t care about. The dramatic long pauses are uncalled for. She is a horrible story teller and keeps bringing up other crime stories that we also dont care about. I dont like this podcast i give it -1000 stars. Shes a narcissist with a microphone.

Greg sounds like a quick add in to ride coattails
Better show without his awkward commentary. Seems like he’s squeezing in to get some notoriety.

Stop. Reading. With. Pauses.
I like the content but the reading is terrible. Why are there so many random pauses in the sentence? Just talk.
CheeseAndTrueCrime
Hmm
Quality content but sometimes feels like it’s edited with a chainsaw. And those dramatic pauses for no reason…you can keep that trash
Not Tom Selleck
Where’s the story??
Listened for your take on Leslie Van Houten and it was an hour of chatter and no report or story! Didn’t even stay on track! Would give you 1 star for this but you have been a good host/reporter .

Needs a new host and new writers.
I am sorry but these episodes cover DREADFUL subject matter but it is made even more dreadful by the host’s monotone delivery. There is no passion, no inflection, nothing! She sounds like a 9th grader fumbling through a speech with long pauses and weird pauses at awkward moments where there would be no punctuation or need to pause for “dramatic effect.” I really just thought it was because she is reading a script but, by god, she talks the same way in multiple recorded conversations with lawyers and such. It is an INCREDIBLY hard listen. I also say that we need new writers or maybe editors because it is really irritating that the host says ok here’s this clip…but before we play the clip here’s the timeline. Now here comes rambling about a timeline for 10 minutes then cut to commercial then back to the show where we continue to ramble but there oh, yes, the clip… here’s that clip that I just “introduced” for 20+ minutes and now I’m gonna introduce it for another 5 minutes then FINALLY I will play the clip uninterrupted and unedited for 20 minutes but somehow this choppy, sloppy and all around boring delivery around this subject matter is supposed to pique my interest or keep me engaged?! Nah. 4 episodes in and I either lose interest, lose my patience or lose the plot and storyline. Shame shame.

Really enjoy this podcast!
I found this podcast after listening to Deadly Diocese, which I highly recommend as well! Rachael does a great job and is able to lighten the mood with her great sense of humor without making light of the situation she is discussing. Give this podcast a listen I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Great story
I have never heard this story but reminds me in some way of the Netflix show “The Keepers.” Did not rate as 5 stars as the sound seems garbled at times — especially when interviewing people. Did not like the autopsy jokes from the autopsy techs. I am sure it is funny to them but I lost my Mom to colon cancer AND we are talking about the tragic death of a man. Have some respect.

Love it!!

Updated review.
Lots of cases I’ve never heard about before.. They’re Very interesting! Originally I gave it 2 stars but after listening for a while the cases she covers are just so great I can’t stop listening.

Such an intriguing podcast. One of the only solo podcasts that I love because it’s so well researched and well told. New forever fan!
