Conclusion of the series designed to help you develop strength, grit and self-sufficiency by making peace with realities that you may not readily acknowledge.  They seem grim on the surface, but are troves of wisdom that will help you be mindful, empowered service professionals.  This one is about shedding entitlement.

All of this is true:

Self-worth is not a function of how much you think you deserve.  Shed this old conditioning, hack feelings of non-acceptance and take your service game to the next level.

Entitlement is not grand, pompous and puffed up, but can be found disrupting little interactions we have.  Learn how to recognize it and find acceptance.

Learn to be a "service alchemist" - it's not good enough to tolerate challenging or unpleasant situations.  You need to convert the experience to something that is valuable to yourself and others.

Our sense of identity and power as service professionals is unexpectedly blocked by entitled thinking and nourished by owning our humble role.  See this episode on power and humility for a deeper look at empowered service.

People can tell when you own where you're at and will respect your self-acceptance much more than someone walking around thinking they deserve better and reject their present lot in life.

Refer to the episode on Karma Yoga to experience a great companion piece to this one and learn a powerful and practical ancient practice that you can apply to any service role.  Basically, learn how to make action (i.e. all the things you do) a means of serving the moment and always learning how to do it better.
