TEACHING NOTES
It’s never nice to feel weak. So often, what we want instead to be is STRONG: mighty, brave, faithful.
Sometimes, we spend so long trying to be strong that it leaves us feeling weaker than we did before.
So ,how does God do it? How does God make us strong?
Let’s reflect on this idea together, with 2 Corinthians 4 as our lens.

Bible teaching by Alex Vaca on the 19th July 2026.
TEACHING NOTES
Main Idea: God does not simply save His people from their enemies; He saves His people from their idols and teaches them to trust the King alone.
Micah 5:7 - Like Dew from the Lord
God promises that the remnant of Jacob will become a blessing among the nations, like refreshing dew and rain.
Micah 5:8-9 - Like a Lion Among the Nations
The picture changes from gentle dew to a powerful lion. God's restored people will no longer be helpless before their enemies. God's people can be gentle without being weak and courageous without being cruel. Our confidence comes from our King.
Micah 5:10-11 - God Removes False Security
God promises to remove Israel's horses, chariots, cities, and strongholds- the things they were tempted to trust instead of Him. Good things become idols when they replace God as the source of our security.
Micah 5:12 - God Removes Counterfeit Spirituality
Astrology, tarot, mediums, spirit guides, occult practices, and New Age spirituality offer counterfeit guidance. We do not need hidden knowledge- we have God's Word, God's Spirit, and Christ.
Micah 5:13-14 - God Tears Down Our Idols
God promises to destroy the idols that had captured the hearts of His people. Modern idols may look different-money, success, relationships, comfort, technology, politics, or even ourselves-but anything we love, trust, or worship above God becomes an idol.
Micah 5:15 - The King Will Judge
God promises that rebellion and evil will not continue forever. His final judgment will be righteous and complete. The King who saves is also the King who judges. At the cross, Jesus took the judgment deserved by everyone who trusts in Him.

• Jesus is the Shepherd-King.
• He leads with God's strength, not human power.
• True security is found in the presence of the Shepherd.
• Christ's kingdom extends to the ends of the earth.
Micah 5:5, "And He shall be their peace..."
• Jesus does not merely bring peace- He is our peace.
• The presence of enemies does not mean the absence of God's peace. God always provides more than enough for His people.
Micah 5:6, "He shall deliver us..."
• Jesus rescues His people from sin, death and the power of the enemy.

Bible teaching by Thomas Abbott on the 21st June 2026.
TEACHING NOTES
Micah 4:1–5 gives us one of the Bible’s great visions of peace: nations streaming to the mountain of the Lord, weapons transformed into farming tools, and every person sitting safely under their own vine and fig tree…
But this peace does not come through human will, political idealism or clever diplomacy. It comes because God reigns.
After the judgment of Micah 3, where Zion is reduced to rubble, chapter 4 opens in stark contrast with astonishing hope: the judged mountain will one day be exalted above all other mountains. God will teach the nations, judge rightly, settle disputes and remove fear forever.
As born-again followers with His in-dwelling spirit, we see this vision centred on Jesus Christ, the Judge who was judged in our place. By his death and resurrection, peace with God has begun, and when he returns, Micah’s prophecy will be fully realised!

Exodus 34:29-35; Deuteronomy 34
TEACHING NOTES:
Main Theme
The greatness of Moses was not his leadership, miracles, or achievements, but his relationship with God.
Exodus 34: Moses comes down from Sinai with a shining face.
Deuteronomy 34: Moses climbs Mount Nebo and dies in the presence of God.
Between these two mountains stands a life devoted to walking with God.
Key Verse
"No prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face." (Deuteronomy 34:10)
Moses stood on two mountains.
At Sinai his face shone.
At Nebo his body rested.
Between those mountains was a lifetime of walking with God.
His shining face revealed the secret of his life. His hidden grave revealed the humility of his legacy.
The greatest thing that can be said of any believer is not that they were successful, gifted, or influential. But that they walked with God.
